The ocean is a beautiful thing; so very vast and often a color of blue that you can’t believe is real (can you tell I’m getting excited to sail that gorgeous ocean soon on the Disney Dream?) Well, did you know that June 8 is World Ocean Day? To celebrate the special day, Disney will actually be holding some special events on Wednesday, June 3.

Guests are invited to head to Epcot’s The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion where they can explore the 5.7 million gallon salt water aquarium, learn about the different sea animals, and play ocean themed games.

Activities will include:

  • It’s Tough to be a Sea Turtle: A replica sea turtle nest will allow Guests to see the start of a sea turtle’s journey as they battle the odds from their first day of life. Guests will also learn how people are doing their part to help protect these animals. Plus, the kiddos can crawl through a turtle excluder device (TED) to experience how fishermen have altered their nets to avoid accidentally catching sea turtles.
  • Coral Conservation:  Guests will learn about coral reefs and their role in the ocean as well as the incredible work being done at Abaco in The Bahamas. Guests will be able to learn from and speak with members of the team directly involved with corral restoration projects.
  • Seas Team Presentation: Guests will be able to interact with some of the experts at The Seas about the different jobs, activities and responsibilities they do on a daily basis by asking questions and talking one-on-one with the Cast Members.

The special activities, as well as The Seas will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for guests to be able to learn about the simply incredibly ocean.
