Día de los Muertos Activities Return to Disneyland This Fall

This fall, at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, Guests will be invited to celebrate Día de los Muertos.

Let’s start at Disney California Adventure. Guests should first stop at the Plaza de la Familia at Paradise Gardens. Themed around Coco, families can share meaningful memories of loved ones at the Memory Wall, enjoy the iconic Mexican Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) photo location and take part in a mask-making craft that depicts an alebrije (spirit guide) from the film. You will also want to make sure you visit the art exhibit called The World of Coco, Mariachi music performed on the bandstand and delicious Mexican food menu at Paradise Gardens Grill. If you have a Cars fan in the family, you’ll also want to make sure to stop in Cars Land where you’ll be able to see an ofrenda (a remembrance altar) that pays tribute to Doc Hudson, which will be found at Ramone’s House of Body Art. (I know it’s an animated character, but all the tears!)

Over at Disneyland, Zócalo Park in Frontierland will feature a colorful display in honor of Día de los Muertos featuring marigolds and papel picado, along with a traditional ofrenda, calaveras (sugar skulls), an iconic figure of La Catrina and delicious food at Rancho del Zócalo.

This event won’t last long! Día de los Muertos activities begin on September 7 and will take place through November 2.
