Disney California Adventure (DCA) opened in 2001 as the second theme park at the Disneyland Resort. Although DCA’s only a couple decades old, it’s already had two major changes and is in the middle of a third. The first remake was Cars Land, including the instant classic Radiator Springs Racers attraction, from Pixar’s Cars film franchise. The second update added the Incredibles-themed Incredicoaster roller coaster, the park’s largest attraction, to the back of the park. The third update, currently underway, is converting the front of the park to attractions themed around the Marvel Avengers franchise. The first major ride to open here was WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, with more to come.
Disney California Adventure is a quick walk from Disneyland. Because it’s so close, many families visit both parks on the same trip. DCA is host to almost 10 million visitors each year. With that many people, it’s easy to get caught up in long lines. Luckily, avoiding lines is what TouringPlans is all about!
We track wait times across Disney California Adventure every day all year round. And that’s important because DCA has special events almost every month of the year to boost attendance. Check the Crowd Calendar to see what wait times will be like on the day of your visit.See the full Crowd Calendar

DCA hosts special events throughout the year. January has the conclusion of Festival of the Holidays and the start of the Lunar New Year Celebration, which runs into February. The park hosts its own Food & Wine Festival in March and April, then Grad Nights in May and June.
DCA celebrates Halloween throughout September and October with the Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, as well as decorations, seasonal food, and special entertainment throughout the park.
