PHOTOS – The First Signs of the WDW 50th Anniversary Celebration Have Arrived at Magic Kingdom
When Disney announced the short list of elements for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World, many Disney fans got excited about how each park icon will look. Each of the Walt Disney World theme parks has an icon, and each one will get a new look for the 50th Anniversary Celebration which will kick off on October 1, 2021. But, we already have our first look at how the most famous icon of them all will look.
Yesterday at Magic Kingdom we spotted some of the embellishments that will be added to Cinderella Castle. This iconic, fairy tale structure has new color scheme which has been present since the July 2020 reopening.
Now, some of the adornments have started to appear on Cinderella Castle. The color scheme of the 50th Anniversary Celebration includes blue and purple hues, shimmering gold, and an “ear-idescent” aesthetic. You can see elements of this color scheme in this first adornment to appear on the Castle.

The castles were originally styled by Imagineers with a background as set designers who knew how to use muted colors to create the illusion of distance and size, and it showed when looking down Main Street. The current stylists come from a background of toy design and the castles show it.
