Everything We Know About Disney’s Newest Ship – The Disney Believe

We’ve been waiting for news about the fourth Wish-class ship, and it’s finally here! Josh D’Amaro announced the name during the annual shareholder meeting, and Disney Parks Blog has shared some details.

  1. Ship Name – After months of guessing, the newest ship will be named the Disney Believe. Believe has been a popular guess for the last several ships! It aligns perfectly with Disney’s emphasis on storytelling, and fits well with the other ship names in my opinion. Solid choice, Disney!
  2. Theme – After the enchantment themed Disney Wish, the adventure themed Disney Treasure, and the heroes and villains themed Disney Destiny, the Disney Believe will be promise and possibility themed! That’s a theme that works with just about anything Disney does, so it doesn’t narrow it down too much for us! But it’s good to have an idea of what’s coming at least.

  1. Stories – Disney Parks Blog says that Believe “will be a tribute to those dreamers and doers who dare to pursue their own happily ever after.” With stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars onboard. That’s true for all of the current Wish-class ships, but it should also follow the pattern of its sister ships with its own take on each of the above.
  2. Movies – Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, and The Little Mermaid are all mentioned by name, so we could be looking at hints of the new dinner show and headliner stage show! Moana atrium statue? I’m so in.
  3. Maiden Voyage – We can expect a maiden voyage in late 2027, probably around the same time frame as the Destiny, and hopefully not the same time frame as the Treasure!
  4. Booking Dates – Following that pattern, I’d expect bookings to open this summer.
  5. Video – The reveal video was very cleverly worded – “It begins… with a wish. That wish… becomes something you simultaneously have to let go of, and hold onto, it turns into hope and wonder. And at times, can feel like a far off dream. Maybe even, a fantasy. But when your wish comes true, it’s magic. taking you on an adventure, you treasure forever. Then you realize, the thing you wished for was your destiny all along, and all you ever had to do was…”

We expect lots more announcements and reveals spread out over the next few months. Next up for Disney Cruise Line will be the fifth Wish-class ship, followed by three smaller ships that have been referred to as the Meridian-class for now!
