Are you headed to Disney World with kids this summer? We’ve created a Custom Touring Plan specifically for families with children between the ages of 3 – 9 years.
This post details:
- EPCOT’s highest rated attractions for children ages 3 – 9 years
- Indoor play places
- Top rated dining locations
- Cool Kids’ Summer fun
Create Your Custom Touring Plan

You can create a custom touring plan on our website. You’ll be able to select attractions, Lightning Lane return times, and set your walking speed. You’ll be able to optimize your plan as you go to spend less time in lines. Subscribers have access to 28 EPCOT premium touring plans on our website, too.
We’ve done the research for you, so let’s look at our picks for the best summer EPCOT day with little ones.
Step 1

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a big hit with our target audience and the best way to have the shortest wait is to rope drop Early Entry from the International Gateway. This is handy if you’re staying at an EPCOT resort or one of the skyliner locations like Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, the Riviera, or Art of Animation.
Step 2

The Norway pavilion in World Showcase is home to Frozen Ever After, the Anna and Elsa meet and greet, and the single greatest cinnamon roll on Disney property. The Orange Cinnamon Roll can be found at Kringla Bakeri and is more than enough for a family of four. They also sell bottled Voss water, Perrier (spicy water), and great adult beverages like the Frozen Viking Coffee for $17.50.
Frozen Ever After and the meet and greet are very highly rated with kids ages 3 to 9, so make sure these are on your plan somewhere.
Step 3

CommuniCore Hall is the center of Cool Kids’ Summer fun this year and you don’t have to leave the area to enjoy everything.
Meeting Mickey Mouse is consistently a highly rated experience in any park for any age group and this meet and greet is no different. Kids ages 3 – 9 rate meeting Mickey and Friends 4.85 out of 5 – making this the highest rated attraction in EPCOT for our target age group.
Goofy Core takes up the majority of CommuniCore Hall this Cool Kids’ Summer.
Goofy Core Showtimes:
- 10:30am
- 11:30am
- 12:30pm
- 1:30pm
- 3:15pm
- 4:15pm
- 5:15pm
A DJ plays upbeat songs as Goofy leads games like Red Light, Green Light. There is a play place for children ages 2 -5, and one for children up to 12 years old. Parents can rest on chairs and benches around the room while watching their younglings play.
Grab -N- Goof is a festival style kitchen in the corner of CommuniCore Hall that can be accessed from the window outside. This is not the most nutritious meal ever, but it’s all very tasty and sure to please picky eaters.
Step 4

Ten minutes is probably unrealistic if your kids love splash pads and it’s hot and humid out, so plan accordingly. Make sure you have dry clothes for the post-play break.
Step 5

If your kids are tall enough to ride, you’ll want to add Test Track to your plan. While the average rating is high, 4.35 out of 5, this attraction is more popular with elementary school kids than their younger counterparts.
Refuel on free Coke products from around the world at Club Cool – located just down the path from Test Track.
Step 6

Ready for a nap and then a bit of fun? You’ll find both inside the Imagination pavilion. Pop in to the highly rated Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival (nap time for mom or dad) and then ride Journey Into Imagination with Figment. The exit drops you right into the ImageWorks play area and a Figment meet and greet.
Step 7

Another building with lots to do is The Living Seas! Ride The Seas with Nemo & Friends and grab a free Finding Dory’s Friends Scavenger Hunt (with stickers!) as you walk about the SeaBase Aquarium upstairs. Head back down to the first floor for Turtle Talk with Crush and some play time at Bruce’s Shark World. This entire building is full of fun for all ages.
Step 8

You’re probably ready for a seat and some real food and The Land pavilion has both. Ride Soarin’ Across America and head upstairs for the best character meal in the park! Check out our review of Garden Grill here – it really is exceptional. Living with the Land is in this building, too, in case you aren’t ready to face the heat just yet.
