Best Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World

We’ve recently shared the results of our reader survey picks for the best table service restaurants at Walt Disney World, 2019. (And again, thanks to all who completed surveys and shared their opinions.) We can now reveal Touring Plans readers’ picks for best quick service restaurants. Some of these spots are terrific because they offer unique dishes, or well-placed locations, but a full quarter of your choices are chain restaurants of one form or another, with food you can find at home, not just at Disney World. This may speak to the fact that when you’re dining quick serve, your priority may be to find something reliable and reliably fast. That said, there are a few surprises on the list, maybe one of your personal favorites.

Without further ado, here are your top 20 picks for best quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World…

• 20. Columbia Harbor House, Magic Kingdom. This is an easy place to get a healthy meal in the Magic Kingdom. Grilled salmon, vegetarian chili, and steamed veggies are on the regular menu. The Lighthouse Sandwich, featuring hummus and broccoli slaw, is a favorite of vegetarians.
• 19. Promenade Refreshments, Epcot. Reliable hot dogs and beer are the menu standards, though the real draw is the seasonal specialties they offer during the ubiquitous Epcot festivals.
• 18. D-Luxe Burger, Disney Springs. A solid menu of burgers and fries, with lots of dipping sauce options. Save room for a boozy adult milkshake for dessert.
• 17. The Paddock Grill, Saratoga Springs resort. Let’s face it, you’re probably not going to dine at the Paddock Grill, essentially a poolside bar with food, unless you’re staying at Saratoga, but it’s nice to know that if you are staying there you can find a reasonably priced real meal, just steps away from your villa.
• 16. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Port Orleans French Quarter resort. This is a moderate resort food court, so again, chances are you won’t be dining here unless you’re staying in the Port Orleans area. In this case, that might be a mistake. The hallmark dessert item here is fresh-made Mickey-shaped beignets, served dusted with powdered sugar and your choice of dipping sauces: caramel, raspberry, or chicory coffee ganache. If you’ve spent the day shopping at bustling Disney Springs, a boat ride to Port Orleans for beignets can be just the thing to take the edge off.
• 15. Flame Tree Barbecue, Animal Kingdom. Delicious BBQ chicken and ribs, plus macaroni and cheese, make this a great stop for those with a hearty appetite.
• 14. Wolfgang Puck Express, Disney Springs. A broad selection of sandwiches, salads, pizza, and full entrees make this a good spot if you’re dining with a group with varying food preferences. This is also one of the few places to get a real breakfast at Disney Springs.
• 13. Refreshment Port, Epcot. The menu here changes with some regularity–currently it features several varieties of poutine. Look for special items related to the Epcot festivals.
• 12. Main Street Bakery, Magic Kingdom. This is a Starbucks. It’s the only place to get coffee on Main Street. ‘Nuff said.
• 11. Beaches & Cream To-Go, Beach Club resort. This is the take-out window for the uber-popular Beaches & Cream soda shop. They don’t serve food, but you can get most of the restaurant’s fun ice cream treats here, even a mini version of the iconic Kitchen Sink sundae.
• 10. Blaze Pizza, Disney Springs. Blaze is a chain (one just opened about three miles from my home in New York, yayyy!). Their claim to fame is quick-fired, customized, thin-crust pizza. It’s absolutely delish and extremely affordable, particularly if you split a pizza with two people.
• 9. Earl of Sandwich, Disney Springs. Another chain, this one with about 30 locations scattered across the U.S. The sandwiches are tasty and the prices are low. Can’t go wrong.
• 8. Fountain View Snacks, Epcot. More Starbucks.
• 7. Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Epcot, England pavilion. The take-out stand attached to the popular Rose & Crown pub. The fish and chips are just like you’d find in England. Be sure to try the fries (chips) with malt vinegar.
• 6. Tamu Tamu Refreshments, Animal Kingdom. This tiny stand doesn’t offer much in the way of substantial food, but it does offer Dole Whip spiked with rum, and isn’t that enough?
• 5. Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, Epcot, Norway pavilion. The pastries are the pull here, with the clear winner being their School Bread, a sort of Norwegian cream puff topped with toasted coconut.
• 4. The Polite Pig, Disney Springs. A variety of well-smoked meats headlines the menu, but the real star is the selection of sides: crispy Brussels sprouts, BBQ cauliflower, roasted beets, and yummy sweet potato tots. Carnivores and vegetarians can be equally at home here.
• 3. Creature Comforts, Animal Kingdom. Another Starbucks comes out strong. This location benefits from being one of the few places to grab breakfast at the Animal Kingdom.
• 2. Satu’li Canteen, Animal Kingdom. This is one of the newer quick service venues at Walt Disney World, opening when Pandora did in 2017. The signature item is a “bowl” which allows guests to customize a base of quinoa, rice, or greens, with toppings of beef, chicken, shrimp, or tofu, and a variety of sauces. The ingredients are flavorful and the ability to select from a variety of options means that you get exactly what you’re in the mood for. Pro tip: Make use of Disney’s mobile order system, available through the My Disney Experience app, to save eons waiting in line.

• 1. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Epcot, France pavilion. Les Halles smells exactly like my study abroad program in France, which is a wonderful thing. The offerings here, savory and sweet alike, are the real deal. The jambon buerre is just like my French host maman made and the eclairs and tartes will make you feel like you’re strolling down the Champs Elysees. Les Halles typically opens at 9:00 a.m. when the other dining spots in Epcot’s World Showcase don’t open until 11:00. Grab an espresso and a pain au chocolate on your way to the Frozen ride and your day will be off to a beautiful start.
