Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Springs, Town Center

Local owners of The Ravenous Pig bring Florida cuisine, local beers, and a Bourbon bar to Disney Springs.

While categorized as quick service, The Polite Pig is more of a hybrid. You order at the counter and servers bring your food to you and check on you during your meal. The servers can also take orders for additional drinks or desserts instead of sending you back to the counter.

A highlight at The Polite Pig is the circular bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve a variety of moderate to high-end whiskeys and bourbons, including a $99 shot of 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle. Cocktails and wines are served on tap, which sounds downscale but is fresh, tasty, and fast.

Meat and more meat is the name of the game here, with even most vegetable sides including it. Visit the condiments section for sauces and cutlery before your food arrives. Seven sauces are available including mustard-, vinegar-, and tomato-based. Sides are a twist on Southern cooking (whiskey-caramel Brussels sprouts) though the macaroni and cheese was a let-down. The Hop Salt Pretzel with cheese and mustard sauces easily serves 4-6 people as an appetizer and is the best pretzel we've tasted at Disney. "Cracklins" (deep-fried pork skins) are a big hit with those who know they like them, and a bargain at $5. The kids' menu of chicken tenders, mac and cheese, or grilled cheese was a disappointment given the creativity of the adult menu.

All food is house-made, which means you may have some inconsistencies even with the same dish at your table.

All in all, The Polite Pig continues to raise the bar on fast casual dining at Disney Springs.
