Free Dining Returns

Although it takes some effort to make Disney’s free dining promotion work in your favor, it is one of the most popular discounts at Walt Disney World. The good news for fans of free dining is that it is back! As always, there are restrictions, requirements, limitations, and more. Here are the details.

This time around, free dining packages require 4 or more nights at a Walt Disney World hotel, along with 4-day (or longer) theme park tickets with the Park Hopper (or Park Hopper Plus) option. Basically, you pay full price for the hotel room and tickets, and you get a dining plan included at no additional cost. Certain resorts and room types are excluded from this free dining promotion, availability may be limited at each resort, and the dining package you get “for free” varies by hotel.

Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: “Standard” Disney Dining Plan

Other terms and conditions may also apply.

If you’re thinking about this deal, you’ll want to book soon–availability is limited and may vary by hotel, so contact your travel agent or Disney. (To be clear, to get “free dining,” you must book a specific Walt Disney World travel package that is associated with free dining. If you already have a trip booked and would prefer this free dining offer over whatever you have already booked, Disney or your travel agent can help you investigate booking the new offer and canceling your old booking.)

  • We’re booked with “free dining” at the end of August – a prior Disney VISA offer. I like it because it’s one less thing to worry about while we’re there. Yeah, I know, we could probably save money by doing everything “a la carte” but I don’t mind paying a little more for the convenience.

  • I’ve never stayed at a Disney resort before, only did so in September so I have access to EMH. Why are some resorts excluded from free dining? (Including mine, the French Quarter)

    • The French Quarter is the smallest resort and always in such high demand that why don’t often need to discount it with Free Dining. The free dining offer doesn’t always save you that much money, especially with the requirement that you buy a Park Hopper Pass. You will have an amazing stay at FQ, it’s one of our absolute favorites!

  • Will we get the dining plan if we’re already booked and paid for? We’ll be there between Nov. 17-26

    • You need to rebook. Be sure to do analysis because you are subject to any new room rates if you rebook so it might not be worth it.
