Frozen mania appears to be continuing and because of that, the Frozen Summer Fun event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been extended. The event was originally supposed to end on September 1; however, today Disney officially extended the event through September 28.

Most of the entertainment will continue as on previous dates; however, from September 5-28, the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular will be presented on only Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 9:45 p.m.

Guests will still be able to enjoy Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome, featuring both the mini-parade and the short presentation on the Sorcerer’s Hat Stage, welcoming the visiting princesses. The welcome takes place at 11:00 a.m.

Also, guests should not miss For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, a comedic retelling of the story of Frozen, which occurs at various times throughout the day in the Premiere Theater.  Make sure to head over to the theater and grab a ticket from a Cast Member ahead of time to guarantee a seat for the show.

Of course, if you are looking for merchandise, you’ll want to head back to Soundstage One, located between Toy Story Midway Mania and the Studios Backlot Tour, where Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post (Yoo hoo!) is featured. Guests can also grab snacks, play in snow in the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” play area, or go ice skating (for a fee.)

Finally, for those who love dance parties, each night at the Sorcerer’s Hat Stage, a DJ will spin tunes, plus a live band will perform at the Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party.

In addition, the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package will be returning for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. With the package, guests will have a reserved location for viewing Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome, a reserved seat for For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, as well as experience a dessert party and a reserved viewing area for the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular. The cost of the Premium Package has increased to $69 per adult and $39 for children.

Who else is as excited as I am that this event has been extended?

  • I was able to register this morning for a FastPass+ for the Sing-Along. I’m assuming that will mean that I don’t need to pick up tickets in the morning at the Premier and that I’m guaranteed a seat at the show so long as I arrive before it starts. Is that correct?

  • Ive been searching the blogs and internet trying to find out if Elsa costumes are available at WDW. Possibly at the Frozen event in the Studio’s? Was wondering if it is still impossible to find them in the parks as well as the Disney Store. If anyone knows or is at the parks anytime soon let me know. I am going in November and was hoping by then the Frozen Madness would have died down but it looks like its still going strong!!!

  • The Disney Facebook page is getting a lot of response to the extension from guests like me that want them to continue it at least through the end of the year, and even beyond. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll still have it when I arrive on November 29th.

  • “I don’t know if I’m elated or gassy,”. Oh wait I do know…. I’m elated! We’re enormous fans and planned a trip (from Canada) in Sept (thank you Crowd Calendar), and now we get to participate!!! Woooo hooooo!

  • I see that you’ve added Frozen attractions to the September touring plans (thanks!), but I don’t see the Sing-Along Celebration. Are you planning to add that, too?

  • My wife and I will be at WDW in September but are not particularly interested in all the Frozen festivities. I can’t decide if this extension is a good or bad thing. It could be bad by drawing bigger crowds to DHS or it could be a good thing as it might draw more people to the Frozen activities and away from the things we want to do.

  • How will this likely affect the crowds? Should people more interested in the regular attractions pick a non-Frozen day to see Hollywood Studios?

    • A heads up: The Frozen events will be taking place every day, however only the fireworks will be taking place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in September (beginning Sept. 5)

  • What time will the frozen fireworks be in September?

  • Oh, I so hope this ends up like the Norway meet-n-greet and turns into a permanent thing! Or at least until we get there in April!

  • Is this being added/extended to the touring plans for HS (not sure if its already there for the summer times)?

    • The Frozen activities are already there through September 1. However, the extension was just announced today, and Disney has not released times for all the extra Frozen shows yet. Once times are released, we’ll make those attractions “addable” to personalized touring plans.

  • Are any of these “extra” things Fast Pass +?

    • As of right now, no. Nothing has FastPass+. The only “FastPass” guests will need to grab is the paper “FastPass” that’s being handed out by Cast Members for the sing-along at the Premiere Theater.

      • I think Disney is now offering FastPasses for the Sing-Along, right?
