When people talk about cult Disney food items, Dole Whip is often close to the top of the list. Never mind that it is now available in many non-Disney, non-Dole locations, it is still an iconic must-do for legions of Disney guests. While the classic flavor is pineapple, Dole Whip is also available in the parks and elsewhere in strawberry, raspberry, lemon, lime, watermelon, and a few other fruity flavors.

So why is it such a favorite? Of course, the light flavors are cool and refreshing, the perfect antidote to a sweltering theme park day. Beyond that, Dole Whip is accessible even for many folks who have trouble with other popular food items.

  • It is a non cholesterol product.
  • The fruit flavors are dairy free and vegan.
  • It is relatively low calorie. A standard 5 ounce serving has just 110 calories.
  • It is low sodium. All flavors have between 0 and 10 mg of sodium per serving.
  • It is gluten free.
  • The fruit flavors are kosher.

No guilt, delicious, and consumable by most people equals perfect.

So where can you find this marvel? Among other places, versions of Dole Whip are available at Disney World at:

  • Aloha Isle, Magic Kingdom
  • Pineapple Lanai, Polynesian Resort
  • Marketplace Snacks, Disney Springs
  • Tamu Tamu Refreshments, Animal Kingdom

And if you’re in the mood to liven up your treat, there are several variations that are served with in interesting presentations such as a float, sundae, fancy cone, or even with shot of coconut rum poured over the top.

Enjoy!

  • There is coconut and vanilla soft serve at many of the venues that sell DoleWhip. However, the same attributes do not apply to these flavors. They’re good, but they’re not vegan, for example. If you have specific dietary needs always check the nutrition facts books at the counters.

  • But what about coconut? Is there coconut? I prefer ice cream most of the time, but sometimes on a really hot and sticky day something lighter sounds more tempting.

    • The Kakamora Float at Sunshine Tree Terrace is coconut!

  • Thanks for the kosher information Erin. One question: Is the pineapple ice cream served at Pop Century also a Dole Whip?

    • NO ice cream is Dole Whip. If one wants to wait 45 minutes for powder and water that’s one’s business, but I do prefer ice cream where a cow is involved. The Dole Whip ingredient list looks like the answer on an AP chemistry exam. Interestingly, this concoction is available at Magic Mountain, Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Arizona State Fair, Menchies Frozen Yogurt nationwide, and nowhere but Disneyland and World do people wait in long lines for it, but hey, shorter wait for me to get a Mickey Bar.

    • The pineapple treat served at Pop Century is Dole Whip, not ice cream. It always makes sense to double check when you’re on site, because Disney does change menu items from time to time, but for now, expect to find Dole Whip.
