Live from the Disney Dream: Day 4
Alas, the skies are weeping that this is our last day before heading back to Port Canaveral. Actually, no. . . it’s just raining. But even a thunderstorm on Castaway Cay beats a day at the office, right?
In the meantime, that means we get to spend some time going through photos and trying things on board the ship that we just haven’t had time for yet. By the time this cruise ends, we know that we won’t be able to do everything — just going to need to book another cruise to try and catch up, right?
One favorite place to hang out is Cove Cafe. During the day, it offers sweet bites for free and a wonderful menu of coffee and tea drinks for purchase. It is quiet and relaxing and simply perfect for getting the “not in the sun” relaxation vibe.
There’s also some neat Disney touches if you look around.
The free soda/coffee/tea and ice cream are still available on Deck 11, with the only change being now items are served to you instead of being self serve.
There’s also the ability to buy ice cream and other treats at Vanellope’s. And yes, the items are worth every penny. The cupcakes are even less expensive and more beautiful than what you’ll find in the parks! (Looking at you unicorn cupcake!!)
One of the questions that we’ve gotten is what sort of food is available for lunch at Cabanas. The good news is that there’s quite the selection. Here’s what we sampled on embarkation day alone.
There were some questions about what would be available on the ship, and we’re so happy to see that some activities we weren’t sure about are back, including Midship Detective Agency!
On a Disney Cruise, sometimes just relaxing for the evening is the way to go. We enjoyed taking in some live music, and maybe even a glass of bubbly in Pink.
And, yes, at the end of the day you still get towel animals and chocolates on your bed. It’s the little things that just make the trip seem even more special.
This was a wonderful trip, and we’ll have more detailed answers to all your questions in future blog posts. Things may be different on Disney Cruise, but it is still a magical vacation!
Did the ship sail at night between the two visits to Castaway Cay? I’ve always wondered what CC would look like after dark.
