Even More TouringPlans Content in 2014
It started with a book. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Then TouringPlans.com came online in 2001 covering Walt Disney World and, later, Disneyland. Last year, TouringPlans launched Universal Orlando and Disney Cruise Line.
This year, we want to bring even more trip planning content to you. We are sending researchers out to Disney destinations over the globe, and we’ll need your help deciding the best content to cover. Over the next few months, we’ll be introducing our team, some of whom you already know from the blog, some who prefer to spend time behind the scenes. They will tell you about where we’re sending them, a little bit about their travel parties, and ask what you want to know about planning your own trips there. Nearly everyone (sorry, Morgan!) is going somewhere he or she has never been before. We’ve got whole families, couples, and friends traveling together.
You can even share the experience with us. We’ll be hosting meets everywhere we’re visiting on October 12 and would love to see you. Can’t make it to Tokyo or Paris? So what are we covering?
United States – Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Disney’s Hilton Head Resort, and Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa; with new hotels, restaurants, and money-saving tips whether you drive or fly.
Asia – Tokyo Disneyland Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort; including how to navigate everything from buying park tickets to the trains to the parks.
Europe – Disneyland Resort Paris; including the DLRP travel packages, hotel reviews, and how to get the best airfare to France.
Disney Cruise Line – all four Disney Cruise Line ships, Magic (7-night Southern Caribbean from San Juan), Wonder (6-night Western Caribbean from Miami), Dream (4-night Bahamas from Port Canaveral), and Fantasy (7-night Western Caribbean with Falmouth, Jamaica, from Port Canaveral); with new Port Adventures and kids’ activities coverage.
As always, our trips are booked with our own money at rates available to the general public.

I would definitely love to hear more about the Western Caribbean cruise, especially information about the ports and port tours. I subscribed in 2012 for our trip to Disneyland, and I’ve just subscribed to the DCL and WDW content for a 2015 trip. When you’re planning to come from Australia, you want to do ALL your research up front and the touringplans website and unofficial guides has made my life a lot easier 🙂

We’re heading to Disneyland Paris in July! But it’s a little daunting without my trusty Touring Plans and Unofficial Guide. I would love to see some hints before then if you can manage it!

That’s my bad luck. We are at WDW for nine days but fly back home on October 12 at 1pm. Soooo close. Hope your crews have a fabulous time–great idea!
Looking forward to HHI and Vero Beach Resort information. Information about these spots is hard to find. Also, love to hear about the Disney parks outside the USA. I really would like to know about traveling to these parks- transportation and good off site options (if possible). Your traveling resources are a must for anyone taking a Disney vacation! Keep up the great work!
Wow, I’ve been to DLP four time but would be soooo happy to see touring plans for the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios. I’ll be recommending you to everyone I know going to DLP.
Anything you can tell me abt meeting Anna and Elsa? I hear they are leaving epcot. My plan was to breakfast in akershus before park opening then hustle over to the line toeet them
They will be moving to the Magic Kingdom on April 20th. Your best bet is to try to get a Fast Pass to see them.
This is such a great idea! Resources for Disneyland Paris are pretty thin, and when I went it was a bit daunting. I’d suggest making a short video about how to buy tix and use the RER train from Paris out to DLP. I bet for Americans that is the most intimidating part of going out to DLP.
Also one of the biggest adjustments for WDW regulars will be that DLP generally has very short operating hours, making a touring plan even more essential to see as much as possible in 1 or 2 days.

Really looking forward to the Tokyo and Paris coverage. I would love a crowd calander or at least a basic understanding of when the best time to go would be. I have fear of planning a trip to Paris with a couple days for Disney and it being the equivalent of French Spring break.
DLP doesn’t see crowds like the stateside parks (except oddly enough at Big Thunder Mountain, which is the most popular attraction). What it does have is really weird weather. The summers never warm up, and I’ve been there in snow in November. Also, the majority of guests don’t seem to be from France.
Where is the meet up at Disneyworld on Oct. 12th? I will be there during that time and have this earmarked as a free day.

Looking forward to the Tokyo DLR content. Tokyo DL and DisneySea are frequently called the best theme parks in the world, so I can’t wait to see the UG/TP take on it.
If you have kids, the best time for Tokyo is during their April spring break. The Japanese school year starts the first week of April so weekdays are uncrowded. Plus the weather is perfect and the cherry trees are in bloom. Second best is as soon as your kids’ school lets out for summer. June is the rainy season and can be a bit muggy. But Japanese schools don’t let out until July, which is also when the real heat sets in. Without kids, April, October, and November are the best weather months. But avoid weekends and Mondays. Occasionally Japanese schools will meet on a Saturday then give them the following Monday off. We found this out the hard way on Columbus Day several years ago.
What about Sea World Parks content???? This is soooooo expected!!!
Sea World really isn’t our thing. But it’s covered in another Unofficial Guide title – Beyond Disney – that TouringPlans doesn’t produce.
