Disney Celebrates Party for the Planet This Weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

April 22 is Earth Day and to celebrate, the Walt Disney World Resort, specifically Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be celebrating the planet in style this weekend. Party for the Planet will take place for three days, April 20-22 and during the event, Guests are invited to explore and connect with nature with family-friendly experiences and more.

Throughout this weekend, Guests will be able to meet some of the park’s animal care experts, animal educators and conservation experts. Here you will be able to see how Disney cares for animals at the parks, as well as works to save endangered species worldwide. Guests will also be able to watch animal feedings and training experiences to learn how the park’s keepers care for these animals.

If you’re looking to learn a little more, the park will be offering Tiffins Talks. These are special dining experiences that take place from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and will feature a unique conversation courtesy of Imagineer, Joe Rhode. Tiffins Talks include a delectable 4-course lunch at Tiffins featuring global dishes, desserts and specialty beverages. Pricing for this dining package is $199 plus tax and gratuity and requires separate park admission. Reservations can be made by calling 407 WDW-DINE.

Guests are also invited to meet Joe Rohde at Mombasa Marketplace from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on April 20 and 22, where he will be on hand to sign his own unique artwork, a commemorative lion print that will be on sale throughout the event while supplies last. A wristband will be required to meet Joe Rohde. A limited number of wristbands will be distributed with purchase of the commemorative lion art at the signing location, on the day of each appearance. Only 2 items will be signed per Guest and you cannot bring any personal items to be signed.

During the Party for the Planet weekend, Guests should also be on the lookout for the larger-than-life marine debris sculpture celebrating Disneynature Penguins film. The display will be located in the Oasis. Guests will also be able to take part in unique character appearances, special entertainment, and commemorative photo opportunities available with Disney PhotoPass photographers.
