PizzeRizzo is Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Have you been wondering what’s been going on with Pizza Planet since it closed a few months ago? I certainly had been. Plus, if you mixed the refurbishment news together with the news that the entire area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios had been rebranded as Muppet Courtyard, you knew something was clearly up. Now, we know what that something is. Today, Disney announced that a new Muppets-themed restaurant called PizzeRizzo will be opening this fall!

Everyone knows and loves Rizzo the Rat and what better character to own and operate a pizzeria. (? Sure…why not. I mean what do the Guests know anyway…they’re tourists.) Guests will be able to grab some pizza or a cold beverage in this two-story quick-service location which will feature both indoor and outdoor seating. Guests will be able to dine in a “cheesy” banquet room or enjoy a special booth designed just for Rizzo’s celebrity friends. You’ll also need to be on the lookout as Guests will be able to see hints of Rizzo, his extended family, and friends who’ve visited his family pizzeria over the years stashed around the restaurant.

Of course, as many know, according to Jim Hill, the Muppets were always supposed to have a themed pizzeria, however the original version was to be themed around Gonzo – The Great Gonzo’s Pandemonium Pizza Parlor. Proof that no good idea dies at Disney; it just morphs into something else.
