The Pirates League Closing at the Magic Kingdom

I bring sad news today, especially for pirate fans. The Pirates League, found in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom will be closing officially on July 27.

For those who don’t know, the Pirates League is similar to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where Guests are able to be transformed courtesy of makeup and accessories and are able to resemble a pirate or a mermaid. Guests who booked this package would receive hairstyle, facial effect and other special treasures. To complete your initiation, the Pirate Masters will give you a unique pirate name.

There are four different packages to choose from – The First Mate, The Skulls and & Scurry, The Scurry Glam, and The Pirate Redd. The nice part about the Pirates League is that it wasn’t specifically for little ones, like the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is. Guests of all ages could participate. (Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has an age cut off of 12.) In addition, for the most part, the packages were more cost effective than the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique options.

No word on what is being done with the space, nor any reason behind the closure of this unique option.

  • My grandsons absolutely loved this experience! They were extremely UNHAPPY when told it had closed! The people were awesome who did everything!
Is there going to be a similar replacement somewhere?

  • I bring a different one of my grandkids to disney world every year. I have 3 that have gone and 3 to go. One of the things they get so excited to do is be a pirate or a mermaid. I don’t know how to tell my granchild that when we go in a few months, she cannot become a pirate. I don’t know why this was closed! I thought COVID at first but looks like it was closed before that even happened. I am so sad I’m not even sure I’ll do Magic Kingdom or a different park. Maybe Universal and visit Harry Potter instead. I hope they do something to have a similar experience. I think it was a mistake to close this down.

  • I don’t know how to get rid of attractions but i feel you are getting rid of too many of the old stand bus that people come to see. Also your prices are gett ing way too high . Sorry to say that’s how i feel and not the only one that feels that way. A family of 5 here can’t even afford your Florida residents pass.

  • This is too bad. My son wasn’t even that into pirates but really enjoyed this unique experience. It was so well done. Hopefully something even better will take its place.

  • How sad! My sons really enjoyed this last October.
