Tomorrowland Preview Coming to Disney Parks
Are you excited about the upcoming film, Tomorrowland? (How can you not be?! It looks fantastic.) Well, if you are anxious about the movie, which stars George Clooney, then you’ll need to make sure to catch the official sneak preview taking place at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
For those visiting Walt Disney World, you’ll need to head to Epcot and the Imagination Pavilion. I’m sorry to report that at least temporarily, fans of Captain EO, Hooter, Odie, Idie, and Fuzzball will not get to see the rag-tag band attempt to deliver a gift to The Supreme Leader. The preview for Tomorrowland will be taking place in the Imagination Theater, and will include in-theater effects. (Captain EO will see its last day of operation on April 9.)
Over on the west coast, at Disneyland, guests can go to Tomorrowland (good place for a preview about a movie named Tomorrowland) where they can catch the sneak peek replete with in-theater effects in the Tomorrowland Theater. In addition, in the Starcade, there will also be an exhibit available for guests to enjoy production art and props used in the movie.
The official sneak preview will begin in mid-April (no official date has been announced) and the preview will last approximately 15-20 minutes. Tomorrowland heads to theaters on May 22.

Here’s hoping this spells the end for Captain EO. I was really excited when they brought it back as I have fond memories of it from its original run, but when I saw it during its current run, it honestly just bummed me out. Cringeworthy…
Will Captain EO be back after the sneak preview is over, or is it ending for good? We’re visiting Disney World in July, and I really wanted the kids to see it. Since my husband and I have brainwashed them to like the music that we grew up with, they love Michael Jackson!
At this time, Disney is saying that Captain EO will be back eventually, but there has been no time frame announced for when the attraction will be returning. Many though question whether Captain EO will be returning overall. Only time will tell on this one.
Yesterday morning, I was getting Fastpasses for our visit in late May (after the movie’s scheduled release on May 22), and saw that there was a notice that there were none available for Captain EO. When I saw this post, I realized why. As a partial answer for you, Mindy, it looks as if Captain EO won’t be back before June 2, anyway.
I also checked FastPass+ for Captain EO. It is available through the Movie preview dates and beyond. I assume Captain EO FP+ will be accepted for the preview. Since Disney has not updated FastPass+ for Captain EO, I would not read too much that you can get a FastPass+ reservation beyond opening day of Tomorrowland.
