Top 3 Things We Ate This Week at Disney, July 3, 2021

The TouringPlans in-park team gets to try a lot of food. From quick service locations to table service meals and snacks in between, we try so many different foods to help keep information on our site up to date. Sometimes foods and drinks are wonderful. Other times, not as much. But what really rose to the top? Here’s our top 3 foods the in-park team sampled this week.

Pineapple Upside Down Shake

This over-the-top treat can be found at Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is a vanilla milkshake with pineapple-caramel sauce, cake crumb-coated rim, pineapple wedge, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Although I’m a bit skittish about “messy drinks”, and so the cake crumb-coated rim is a no-go for me, Chrissy tried it and assured me that it is delicious. If you’re not a fan of pineapple, you’ll find that this doesn’t have an overpowering pineapple taste — it isn’t like eating a Dole Whip. But if you want just a hint of that pineapple sweetness, you’ll love this treat.

Eight Spoon Cafe’s Mac’n’Cheese

We’ve missed you, Eight Spoon at Animal Kingdom. We’ll have a full review on the blog coming soon, but we couldn’t let the week go by without mentioning the gloriousness that is the mac’n’cheese served there. The picture says it all — gooey cheese, crunchy top, just like really good oven-baked mac. We’ve missed you.

Sanaa’s Famous Bread Service

Maybe this was just the week for comfort food? It’s hard to argue with Sanaa’s bread service with nine different sauces, though. In my family, everyone’s got favorites. Truth told, if someone gave this to me as a meal, I wouldn’t complain. The bread is warm and fluffy and the sauces each have unique tastes. It really is a great way to sample a lot of flavors in one simple appetizer. The fact that you can order it to go from Disney’s mobile app? That makes it worth the trip over there alone.

That’s just some of the amazing things we’ve eaten this week. Have any suggestions for us next week? Let us know in the comments.
