Universal Orlando Introduces ‘Stress Free Booking Policy’
Late last week Universal Orlando quietly introduced a new “Stress Free Booking Policy” in response to the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus). These new policies affect bookings now through April 15 for visits now through August 31, 2020.
This is the official policy as of March 9:
- Ticket Policy Updates:
- New ticket purchases from March 4, 2020 – April 15, 2020, for travel March 4, 2020 – August 31, 2020, are fully refundable.
- Hotel Policy Updates:
- Reservations made March 4, 2020 – April 15, 2020, for travel March 4, 2020 – August 31, 2020, are fully refundable up to 24 hours prior to arrival.
- One night’s room deposit will not be refunded when canceling within 24 hours of arrival.
- Vacation Package Policy Updates:
- Vacation package reservations made March 4, 2020 – April 15, 2020, for travel March 4, 2020 – August 31, 2020, may be modified with no fee if such modification is made at least 24 hours prior to arrival. For reservations that are modified within 24 hours of arrival a $50 fee per reservation will apply.
- Vacation package reservations made March 4, 2020 – April 15, 2020, for travel March 4, 2020 – August 31, 2020, may be canceled with no fee if such cancellation is made at least 24 hours prior to arrival. For reservations that are canceled within 24 hours of arrival, a $200 fee per reservation will apply.
These policies only apply to tickets, hotels, and packages purchased from March 4 through April 15. For hotel rooms booked prior to March 4, the standard five-day cancelation period remains. If you think your vacation could be impacted, consider rebooking your hotel under the new policy and canceling your old reservation. This policy can be modified in the future; check Universal’s website for the latest information.

Too bad they add the stress back in when it comes to actually cancelling. Can’t cancel online. Been on the hold on the phone for HOURS so far and yet to get ahold of anyone.
