Be Prepared! The Festival of the Lion King Returns This Summer!

Exciting news for entertainment fans!!! The Harambe Theatre at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will once again have performers singing and dancing to your favorite songs from The Lion King! That’s because fan-favorite Festival of the Lion King will be returning this summer!

The show will return in a modified format, however. There will be adjustments both on stage and backstage. This will include updates to choreography to allow for appropriate physical distancing.

There will also be adjustments to the way the audience is seated, that is in line with other theater-based experiences at Walt Disney World Resort.  For those who haven’t visited yet, Disney is seating about four guests (or one small party, if less than four) together, skipping seats, and seating another section of about four. (I hope this makes sense….you won’t be seated with people who aren’t part of your party, just in case you were worried.) In addition, there will be an empty row in front of you, as well as behind you to allow for physical distancing.

The show itself will be modified, but will still include incredible singers, dancers, and other Cast Members. Musical performances will include” Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” and “Circle of Life.” There will also be a thrilling fire knife performance during “Be Prepared.”

There’s no official return date for the Festival of the Lion King, just yet, but one thing is for sure….we can’t wait to be able to see Simba, Timon, and all our friends from this show once again!
