The Best Dining Values at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Dining is a huge part of any Walt Disney World vacation, but it can also be one of the most expensive and overwhelming! The goal of today’s article is not to list the cheapest restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but rather the restaurants and quick service locations offering the most for your money.

Note: The prices listed in the article are accurate to the date the article was written. Also, Disney changes their menus quite often so certain menu items mentioned in this article may not be available when you visit.

Rosie’s All-American Cafe – Quick Service

This walk-up window offers your typical burgers and hot dogs with a few inspired choices. It’s not memorable, but it does the job for kids, picky eaters, or those looking for something filling and hearty at a budget-friendly price. Rosie’s All-American Cafe is also home to seasonal or promotional treats and an extensive allergy-friendly menu.

Fairfax Fare – Quick Service

Looking for something different than the typical theme park eats for lunch or dinner? Fairfax Fare’s Southwest, Tex-Mex style menu may be just what you’re looking for! Items range from a variety of 7-layer rice bowls, empanadas, and tamales, to specialty salads.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge – Lounge

I love a Disney lounge. Here I can enjoy signature restaurant dishes without breaking the bank. Plus, despite having a bar, many lounges are family-friendly and offer specialty non-alcoholic drinks for teetotalers.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is located just outside of the main restaurant within a gated space and under umbrellas. I frequent this lounge more than others on property simply for the restaurant’s famous Cobb Salad and customizable dessert trio with the option for the Hollywood Brown Derby’s signature grapefruit cake! I can also recommend the Wagyu sliders or banana-toffee cake.

50’s Prime Time Cafe – Table Service

After a week of rich cuisine or one too many pretzels or hot dogs, you’re probably craving a home-cooked meal. You will get it at 50’s Prime Time Cafe and probably more than you bargained for too! This restaurant specializes in dishes like pork chops, fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie. The story is you’re a member of the family dining in Mom’s 1950s kitchen with laminate tabletops and black-and-white TVs showing clips of television shows from that decade. Your waiters and waitresses are part of your family, and they act like it too! Be sure to bring your sense of humor and be sure to clean your plate and keep your elbows off the table. I consider 50’s Prime Time Cafe an excellent value because it offers a delicious menu coupled with a memorable, and often hilarious, experience.

The restaurant’s Tune-In Lounge is popular, particularly for those craving the famous Peanut Butter & Jelly Milk Shake. It’s also unique in that guests can order off the full 50’s Prime Time Cafe menu. However, I don’t consider the lounge a good value as guests are still paying full price for their entrees without the complete restaurant experience. Also, the lounge serves as the waiting area for the restaurant so its often crowded rather than relaxed and intimate.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant – Table Service

Much like 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater also offers an experience along with a meal. Here guests dine in old fashioned cars in a dining room that truly looks like an outdoor, old-fashioned drive-in! As guests dine, they enjoy clips from cheesy, retro sci-fi clicks and those classic concession stand commercials.

Now some say the menu is a little pricey for what you get. Personally, I think it depends on what you order. To guarantee you get your money’s worth, drop in for at least an appetizer and dessert. The inventive dessert menu ranges from a warm glazed donut with ice cream and extras to a house-made sci-fi candy bar! Overall, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater offers more than just a meal for your money and is a guaranteed delight for every age and member of your family.

Woody’s Lunch Box – Quick Service

Woody’s Lunch Box takes childhood, comfort foods and re-imagines them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu items consist of gourmet pop tarts, a S’more french toast sandwich, a grilled three-cheese sandwich, a BBQ brisket melt, tomato-basil soup, and more. Many consider Woody’s Lunch Box one of the best quick service values at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As the lines are often long for Woody’s Lunch Box, be sure to take advantage of Mobile Order option. Also don’t forget to pay attention to the building itself! It’s literally an open lunchbox propped up by a thermos where guests pick up their orders at windows resembling Tupperware containers surrounded by cookies and carrot sticks.
