The Ski Resort on the Meltdown (Disney’s Blizzard Beach) Is Reopening in March

The coolest (based on the icy theme) water park will be reopening at the Walt Disney World Resort here in the next couple of months! Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen to all Guests beginning on March 7. And according to Disney, this year will mark the 25th anniversary of the water park!

Blizzard Beach is Disney’s more exotic water park. The story behind the park goes that an entrepreneur tried to open a ski resort in Florida during a particularly savage winter. Unfortunately, because it was Florida, the snow melted and all that remained of the ski resort was its alpine lodge, the ski lifts, ski slopes and bobsled runs, which have been transformed into waterslides.

It was recently shared that one of the Walt Disney World water parks would be reopening in March, but Disney never stated which one. Do keep in mind that upon reopening there will be a plan focused on health and well-being. We’ll make sure to share official details as we learn them.

Now, while we now know that Blizzard Beach will be reopening officially in March, we don’t yet have a date for the reopening Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, though it is also expected to reopen at some point in 2021.
