Great Irish Hooley to Take Place This Labor Day Weekend at Raglan Road

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant will once again be ready to celebrate with guests, as they are invited to attend The Great Irish Hooley (Irish slang for celebration) from Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 2. The restaurant, found in Downtown Disney, will feature live music from top Irish bands and dancing, as well as dance workshops and delicious food offerings.

Throughout the day, starting at 5 pm on Friday and lasting throughout the festivities, celebrated Irish bands will be on hand to perform folk, traditional, and rock tunes. Two stages will be set up, one on the patio and one inside the restaurant on the main stage. Performers on hand for the fun will include Scythian, Creel, Lisa Canny, The Raglan Rebels, The Farrell Brothers, the Raglan Road Dancers, and Elevation (a popular U2 cover band.)

In addition, guests won’t want to miss the dance workshops, led by the renowned choreographer Ronan McCormack from the original cast of Riverdance. Guests will also be able to learn structured set dancing, called the Ceili, which is said to be a precursor to country line dancing.

Looking for food? Trust me, they’ve got that in spades for the event! Indulge in beer battered fish or Shepard’s Pie. Keep in mind, you don’t want to forget about the Guinness. Additional menus will also be available throughout the weekend. Plus, don’t forget that Celtic face painters will be on hand from noon until 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
