Disney World Resort Bar Crawl Part 1: Skyliner Resorts

Ready to unwind after your Disney day? Or maybe you’re just looking for a new way to do Walt Disney World. Why not do it bar crawl style? There are loads of options for a nice cocktail, craft brew, or full-blown bar experience at Walt Disney World. You’ll find everything from beachfront watering holes to lounges with rooftop views to quirky themed bars – enough to satisfy everyone’s happy hour goals.

Today, I’m offering up the first in a series of bar crawls this time hitting the Disney Skyliner resorts.

The Skyliner

First off, let’s recognize how amazing WDW’s newest mode of transportation – the Disney Skyliner – really is. It’s fast, it’s smooth, and the views are amazing. What better way to be whisked away for an evening of unique bar hopping?

The Skyliner Bar Crawl

Stop #1: Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney succeeded in capturing a laid back European vibe with this poolside watering hole located just a Skyliner stop from EPCOT. An open-air setting with serene ocean hues, Bar Riva brings an upscale menu without being pretentious, with offerings from baked brie to burgers. But the drinks are the true showstoppers. In addition to your typical spritzes and margaritas, the Bar Riva menu also features some great house sangrias, frozen cocktails, and even some fun non-alcoholic options such as the hibiscus coconut refresher.

Stop #2: Voyageurs Lounge at Disney’s Riviera Resort
Just upstairs from Bar Riva and off the Riviera resort lobby, the compact Voyageurs Lounge is a tastefully decorated respite for weary park travelers. Charcuterie dominates the menu’s bites, but one-of-a-kind cocktails and wines steal the show. Try the Euro Cosmopolitan or Cafe Amaro, or sip from the excellent wine selection.

Stop #3: Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
This breezy, calypso-infused space presents fun eats (including a yummy new pineapple coconut bread pudding a la ‘Ohana!) and enough rum to earn Captain Jack Sparrow’s seal of approval. Just off the Fuentes de Morro pool, Banana Cabana mixes up some must-haves such as the Hoist the Colors, a Caribbean Rum Flight, and the Pink Guava Colada.

Stops #4 & #5: The Drop Off Pool Bar at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Petals Pool Bar at Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Rounding out the Skyliner Resort Bar Crawl are the casual Drop Off and Petals pool bars located at two of Disney’s value resorts which share a Skyliner stop. The menus often mirror beverages from that of other drinking spots on Disney property, but they do highlight a few of their own offerings like the Big Blue Ocean and Sunshine Margarita. Drop Off and Petals are also known for whipping up limited-time specialty cocktails for celebrations such as anniversaries and theme days, so there’s incentive to go back again and again.

Tips for Using the Skyliner

  • A map of the Disney Skyliner can be found here
  • Plenty of friendly Cast Members are stationed at each Skyliner stop to help you navigate your bar crawl
  • A short walk is required to/from certain Skyliner stations and the locations included in this resort bar crawl, so comfortable shoes are recommended
  • Casual, comfortable attire works for all of the stops included in this route (and themed Mickey ears come highly recommended)
  • The Skyliner gets very crowded around park closing times, so plan accordingly

Whether your flights be in the sky or the glass, you’ll enjoy getting to know another side of Walt Disney World with this Skyliner Resort Bar Crawl!
