Always wanted to stay at the Contemporary, but haven’t managed it yet. Time to save my pennies.
Some people hate the Contemporary for it’s lack of “themeing”… but in doing so, they omit the #1 reason why so many families go to Disney World in the first place. It’s proximity to the Magic Kingdom – and the ability to walk there – makes it a no-brainer suggestion for families. No waiting for a bus; no waiting for a monorail (unless you want to).
If you have kids that will want to spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom and you are willing to pay for deluxe accommodations, then the Contemporary is a no-brainer.
I completely agree! I love that you can go through security inside the resort before hopping the monorail. Makes things so much easier once you arrive at Magic Kingdom.

Len,
It’s on my list too Len. I would love to stay in the main building. I’ve stayed at Bay Lake Tower and it was incredible. Great theme park view!
