We’re answering all those questions and more in our Everything You Need to Know attraction series with today’s focus on The EPCOT Experience at EPCOT!

What is The EPCOT Experience?

The EPCOT Experience is an exhibit where guests can preview what Imagineers have in store for EPCOT’s transformation.

Where is the EPCOT Experience?

The EPCOT Experience is located inside the Odyssey Events Pavilion between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion.

The History of The EPCOT Experience

At the 2019 D23 Expo, Disney revealed their plans for EPCOT’s transformation that includes new attractions, experiences, Future World’s conversion into new “neighborhoods,” and more.

Shortly after the Expo, The EPCOT Experience made its debut at the Odyssey Events Pavilion offering guests a peek of what’s in the works and why there’s a literal sea of construction walls.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 understandably delayed a number of these projects with some even disappearing from the original film.

What You Need to Know About the Odyssey Events Pavilion

When the park opened in 1982, the Odyssey Events Pavilion was actually a restaurant! But in more recent years, it’s been used for events, EPCOT’s seasonal festivals, and now as a preview center.

The building itself has a theater in its center showcasing a large diorama of EPCOT surrounded by a 360-degree screen.

Outside the theater, there are food stations (that are currently unavailable), seating areas, bathrooms, and EPCOT-centric photo-ops, posters, and concept art.

EPCOT fans will definitely appreciate the posters as they celebrate the park’s past, present, and future attractions!

What You Need to Know About the Experience

Guests entering the center theater will find a huge diorama of EPCOT that’s transformed by projections in conjunction with the presentation film displayed on the surrounding 360-degree screens.

Guests are encouraged to stand around the diorama to see where these new attractions and experiences will be as bright, colorful visuals and narration reveal more about them.

The ride film spans about ten minutes and is both impressive and entertaining! Also, the cool, dark theater is a great spot to cool off for a few minutes.

What You Need to Know About Accessibility

The EPCOT Experience is fully accessible and can be experienced at leisure. There are no seats inside the center theater.

What You Need to Know About Health and Safety Advisories

There are no health or safety advisories for The EPCOT Experience. Lean rails are provided around the room as the transitions between segments in the 360-degree immersive experience can cause some people to feel a mild sense of imbalance.

What are the Height Requirements?

There is no height requirement.

Does Weather Affect The EPCOT Experience?

A June storm pops over World Drive as a rainy afternoon gets started.

No. The EPCOT Experience is completely housed indoors making it a great place to go during inclement weather!

What’s the Best Time of Day to Experience The EPCOT Experience?

Anytime! The ride film plays continuously throughout the day and guests are free to come and go at their own pace.
