Walt Disney World is an amazing time every day of the year, but for the Fourth of July, they really pull out all the stops! Celebrating America’s birthday is an amazing patriotic event, and Disney knows how to do it with style!

At the Magic Kingdom, Disney will be presenting the show, Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert In The Sky. This fireworks show pays homage to the dreams of America’s forefathers. The show will take place on July 4 at 9:00 pm. If you would like to catch a sneak peak of it though, visit the park on July 3, as the show will be shown then as well, at 9:00 pm.

Over at Epcot, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will be shown with a special Fourth of July tag called The Heartbeat of Freedom. This tag takes place right after the regular IllumiNations show at 10:00 pm and is an overture of traditional American themes. Since the tag’s fireworks are launched from behind the American Adventure Pavilion, your view will be obstructed if you watch from the south side (Germany, Italy, USA, Japan) of World Showcase Lagoon.

Finally, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the park will present the Rockin’ Fourth of July Celebration starring Mulch, Sweat, and Shears.  The band will take guests on a rock n’ roll road trip across America, all set to fantastic fireworks.  Showtime is at 9:45 pm in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat with Fantasmic! showing prior at 9:00 pm.

If you are looking for the best park to visit for the Fourth of July festivities, the recommendation is for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Park Hours for July 4, 2012, are:

  • Magic Kingdom: 9:00 am – 11:00 pm
  • Epcot: 9:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

  • Will have have a DJ playing music at the MK like they have on New Year’s? We always go the night before to see the fireworks (Dec. 30th) and loved the DJ playing music all around the park.

  • We have dinner reservations on the 4th at the Hoop De Doo Review at 7:15. We should be done by 8:45. Any suggestions where we should watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom?

    • I’d watch them from the beach at Fort Wilderness. You aren’t going to be able to go anywhere else with a view by 9:00 pm if you’re finishing up dinner at 8:45 pm.

  • Thats great, thank you 🙂

  • Vicki: The Hollywood Studios fireworks take place in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat.

Daniael: No. You do not have to be staying or eating at the Poly to see the fireworks from the beach.

  • Do you have to be staying or eating at the Polynesian to watch from the beach?

  • Vicki you can’t see much of anything from Downtown Disney. But if you were to go to the Polynesian you can see the fireworks from the beach there. Really any of the Resorts on the lagoon would offer a nice viewing area for free!

  • We will be at Hollywood Studios on the 4th. Yay. So will the fireworks be at the same place as Fantasmic? Do you recommended doing the early or late version of the Fantasmic? Finally we do not have park Hopper passes….is there a place in Downtown Disney to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks on the 3rd?
