If you will be visiting Walt Disney World during the Fourth of July weekend, you will have a lot of fun activities in store! It will be a magical two day celebration to honor America’s Birthday! (It will not be a salute to all nations, but mostly America. This will be a full blown salute to America!)

For those who are looking to celebrate the holiday with blowing stuff up, you will be covered with fireworks on both Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

  • The Magic Kingdom will show “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at 10:00 p.m.
  • At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party will segue into the “Rockin’ Fourth of July Celebration” fireworks show.  It will be a rock n’ roll tribute across America. The DJ will start at 5:45 p.m. and the fireworks will start at 10:15 p.m.
  • Epcot will have a special Fourth of July tag at the end of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, which will take place at 9:00 p.m. In addition, you won’t want to miss the special Fourth of July concert from Voices of Liberty at the America Gardens Theatre at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.  They will then move inside the American Adventure Pavilion for shows at 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Oh and don’t miss Don’t Look Back, a Boston tribute band who will be performing at the America Gardens Theatre at 5:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. Guests will also be able to meet patriotic characters throughout the day.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fourth of July celebration without the opportunity to wear your patriotic pride on your sleeve! (Literally.) There will be shirts available, as well as pins, and socks. (That one is random.) Plus there will be quite a few tasty treats to try as well, which I’m sure will include some type of special cupcake.

In addition, at the resorts, there will be lots of patriotic poolside fun with crafts, games, and movies under the stars.  Matter of fact, at Port Orleans Riverside, they will be holding the Riverside Fair: Red, White & Blue on the Bayou event July 3 and 4.  It will take place in the Riverside Courtyard with a barbeque from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will also be games, crafts, live entertainment and characters available from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

I will make sure to update this post as additional Fourth of July events for the resorts get announced!

As a reminder, the Fourth of July is one of the busiest days of the year at Walt Disney World. Make sure to pack your patience and be kind to others. Oh and make sure you come prepared with a plan.

Fourth of July is a fun experience no matter where you are, but Disney certainly goes all out to celebrate America’s birthday.

  • Sadly the MK fireworks are definitely 10pm on both 3rd and 4th. The official Disney hours issued to travel agents confirm it – 9pm the rest of the month.

We arrive from UK on 3rd and will struggle to stay up that late on either night…

  • Are you sure the MK fireworks are at 10? Everywhere I look it says 9. I am concerned as I have an Ohana ADR and the extra hour would mess up plans.

    • I am going to double check this because I do see where the hours are different. However, in the official hours, they don’t indicate that Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be holding special Fourth of July celebrations on the third either. I would suspect that times have changed to 10:00 p.m., but will let you know if I find out otherwise.
