Jumping Junction at Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is now open for tours!

Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station opened last month but Bingo and her sister aren’t the only reason to take the Wildlife Express Train.

Jumping Junction, home to more than 15 kangaroo and wallaby residents, is now open for walking tours!

This space was formerly Affection Section, home to goats, sheep, pigs, and other gentle animals that guests could pet, brush, and visit with. The current residents, kangaroos and wallabies, were on site when Bluey opened last month, but guests were only able to see them from a distance. Disney was giving the animals time to acclimate to their new homes. The keepers must believe the animals are ready for visitors, because we were able to see them up close today!

Tours consist of no more than 11 guests at a time. Each tour has one Cast Member guide at the front of the group and one at the back. This is done to ensure everyone follows safety guidelines and guests and animals remain safe.

There are a few basic rules that the Cast Members stress multiple times before tour begins:

  • No food on the tour
  • No touching the animals
  • Stay on the walkway
  • Keep moving
  • Animals have the right of way

Two well-spaced tours are in the enclosure at a time. The kangaroos and wallabies are free to roam around – this is their home as we were reminded a few times. There is a paved walkway through the enclosure. Guests are to keep on the paved path and are not to stop walking unless directed to do so by a Cast Member guide.

If a kangaroo crosses the path or comes close, guests are directed to freeze and not touch the animal. You can, however, take as many pictures or video as you like!

So many babies!

We counted four joeys (baby kangaroos) on our tour! It was so special to be so close to them.

A beautiful wallaby at Jumping Junction

Although the joeys were the highlight of our tour, we loved seeing this wallaby, too. None of the animals seemed disturbed by or even interested in the guests on the walking path.

We were in the enclosure for about 6 minutes before our tour was over. There was a very short wait to be placed into a group, so we would definitely recommend checking this out the next time you’re at Conservation Station for Bluey!
