Once Upon a Time Materializes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Mr. Gold is back in New York! No, this isn’t a spoiler for the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time, and it isn’t real New York. But if you walk New York Street in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find a storefront for a very intriguing shop.

Unfortunately, it seems that ol’ Rumplestiltskin is out for the day, as there’s no way to get into the shop, but he’s left some interesting pieces of his collection in plain view in the front and side window.

From the dagger that causes so much trouble (or is it a clever fake?) to the book that ties the series together, there are items to draw the interest of fans of all ages. Since the window display debuted, there hasn’t been a time when people aren’t peering in to see what they can find.

Perhaps even hidden in the display are clues for next season. Only time will tell.

  • Hi, I was wondering if you have a picture of the lamp that was on display?

  • How nice is that! Really looking forward to see and enjoy Walt Disney World and discover the little gems the world has to offer.

  • Oh, wow! I hope it’s still there when we visit in August, and that we’ll get a chance to check it out. And wouldn’t it be awesome if this was a sign of things to come? I realize OUAT isn’t everyone’s thing, just like Frozen isn’t, but one ride or restaurant (Granny’s? Any Given Sundae?) would be a lot of fun.

    • WOW! I really love this video!

  • I’ll have to admit I was lost for a minute as well. But the talk of episodes and seasons tipped me off that it was the ABC show. Speaking of ‘lost’, if they had done a LOST display, I’d have made a special trip for that!

    • We really liked LOST…. right up to the last few episodes. By the end I realized what a huge waste of time it all was… I think the writers had written themselves so far into a corner from which there was no logical escape that the series was doomed to suffer the unsatisfying ending that it did..

      • Yes, I agree that the entire last season was a little unsatisfying. It was such a compelling show in the first 2 or 3 seasons. I think they were trying to find their way again (and end the story) after loosing the plot in seasons 4 and 5. If they had left out the “purgatory” flashes, I think the final season would have been better.

  • I must live under a rock. What is once upon a time?

    • Once Upon a Time is an ABC series that takes classic fairy tale characters (and some other “interesting” additions) and, through an evil curse, sends them to a small town in Maine. It’s not a retelling of classic fairy tales, but more a series tackling the big themes of what exactly is good and evil, can people redeem their past deeds, and what it really means to be a family. It is created by the same folks who made Lost, so you can imagine the plots are pretty intricate.

It’s fifth season will start in September.

  • I’m sure I’d appreciate this more if I were a OUaT viewer, but be it as I’m not, I’m glad I got a few pictures of the ISHERWOOD DIAMONDS sign when it was there. In the words of David Bowie, “cha-cha-changes.”

    • I have no idea how long the display will stay there, but at least for now, there’s always a crowd in front. But yep, the only constant is change…
