PHOTOS: Exterior Work at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
There is a large refurbishment project currently happening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge or the exterior of the buildings. A swarm of small cherry-pickers dot the resort, with workers cleaning and painting outdoor spaces. A cast member at the front desk told us that the work would be, “hopefully done in early 2021.”

It is wonderful that they maintain the buildings, environment and parks to the level that is done. Guests rarely acknowledge and have no appreciation for what is involved with keeping the ‘magic’ real. Our family has been on-property several times when maintenance was being performed and we use it as an opportunity to show and teach our girls about the operations of running a business.
I had a reservation for dec. and cancelled it. I talked to three different people and got three different answers. I don’t want to pay all that money and have construction going on and no one could give me a straight answer. I booked at the wilderness lodge.
I called the front desk today and was told that all the exterior work had been recently completed. Your pictures tell a different story. We don’t want to come until all the exterior views are back.
Thanks Erin! Do you know if the construction is around the Sanaa restaurant building as well? We were hoping to have lunch there in a couple of weeks.
We were at Sanaa on Monday (11/11) for lunch and were really disappointed that all the windows were covered up due to the work. The meal was great but lacking the views we had hoped for.
