Can I Bring My Luggage to Disney World? Yes! Here’s How to Check Your Bags at the Parks

Flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and heading straight to Walt Disney World without stopping at your hotel sounds like the ultimate time-saver, especially if you’re squeezing in a park visit before or after a cruise. But there’s one big question:

What do you do with your luggage at Disney World?

Good News: Disney makes it possible to bring your bags into the parks, and there are a few ways to store your luggage safely while you enjoy the magic.

Disney World Luggage Storage: What You Need To Know

If you’re arriving at the parks with luggage – whether it’s carry-ons, rolling suitcases, or just too many backpacks – you don’t have to lug them around all day. You can check your bags in Disney World’s theme parks and head straight for the rides.

Security Checks Remain the Same

Safety is always the top priority at Walt Disney World. Every bag must go through security screening, just like always. That means you’ll likely have to unzip and open your suitcases. But hey- this is still faster than trekking to your resort and back, right?

And don’t worry: Disney’s Security Cast Members have seen it all. They’ll handle your bags with socks and unmentionables with discretion.

Oversized Bags and Suitcases

Head to the stroller and wheelchair rental area near the entrance of each Disney park. If your luggage is too big for a standard locker, Cast Members can tag and store it for you.

  • This is a free service.
  • Bags are stored at your own risk, but they’re placed in a secure area.

Lockers for Smaller Bags

If your backpack or duffel fits in a locker, you’ll need to use one of Disney’s rental lockers. Lockers are available in multiple sizes, and they’re first-come, first-served.

Locker prices (subject to change)

  • Small $10/day
  • Large $12/day
  • Jumbo $15/day (only available at Magic Kingdom and Epcot)

Can I Bring Luggage on Disney Transportation?

Disney Buses do not allow suitcases or large luggage. Technically, the monorail, Skyliner, and boats do not have luggage restrictions, but during busy times, large bags can be disruptive- and let’s be honest, a little awkward. Your best option is to take a rideshare from the park to your resort or MCO.

Is it Worth it to go to the Parks With Luggage?

There are a few factors here. Are you getting one last park day before you head to the airport for a late flight? Then absolutely. Fitting in a park day around a cruise schedule. This is the way.

If you are arriving early and can’t check into your resort yet, heading directly to the parks gives you a magical head start. But remember, you may have a free water park ticket that can only be used on arrival day.

Many families enjoy checking into the resort, getting organized and starting fresh- we respect that touring strategy too!

Touring Plans Moms Tip:

If you plan to go straight to the parks, pack a smaller day bag inside your luggage so you can grab what you need and leave the rest behind. Think: sunscreen, phone charger, and ears- obviously.
