Around the Universe – Discounts and News for September 2022
Fall is around the corner and Halloween Horror Nights’ spooky doors open tonight. Catch up on the latest news, discounts, and announcements in this months Around the Universe. Also, today is my 36th birthday – happy birthday to me!
Revenge of the Mummy
Revenge of the Mummy has reopened after a refurbishment that lasted nearly eight months and is now in Technical Rehearsals. The attraction’s control systems were changed, projections updated, and animated figures refurbished. The attraction remains the same – a tour of The Mummy set goes south after we fall into an evil Imhotep’s trap. Fire, fog, projections, and a coaster segment follow. Yes, Brendan does get his cup of coffee still.
Feels good to be back riding Revenge of the Mummy. No major changes as reported during TM previews but a lot of TLC to track and effects. @UniversalORL pic.twitter.com/cBaZCOrrdK

Technical Rehearsals mean the attraction could close at any time and all effects might not be working. Follow Touring Plans’ social media and the blog for Revenge of the Mummy updates.
Halloween Horror Nights 31
The Pumpkin Lord has returned to grow another year of Halloween Horror Nights. This year Universal is embracing the Halloween of Halloween Horror Nights for its 31st year. Guests will find new, horrifying twists on trick or treating, pan-dimensional witches, haunting ghosts, and deadly scarecrows. Even the slasher classic Halloween is a featured haunted house. Our Halloween Horror Nights 31 Guide (part 1, part 2) includes planning and touring tips for newcomers and veterans.
Universal continues to lean into the food festival angle of HHN with another new menu of treats. Highlights include Korean corn dogs, caramel corn custard, fried gochujang chicken, donut burgers, tacos, and more. Plus check out the themed cocktails at all Universal Orlando Resort hotels and the Dead Coconut Club!
Holidays at Universal Orlando
Universal’s winter holiday offerings return from November 12, 2022, through January 1, 2023. Popular offerings like the Universal Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, Harry Potter entertainment, and more! Sip hot cocoa from Mistletoe Pines in CityWalk, shop in the all-new 2022 Holiday Tribute Store, or see a performance by Manheim Steamroller on December 3, 4, 10, and 11. All entertainment is part of admission to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Epic Update
2 1/2 miles south of the current main resort campus is the new Epic Universe theme park. YouTube user Cygnus uploaded a great video shot via a drone of the construction. Highlights include vertical construction work on the How to Train Your Dragon land and hub roller coaster. The massive Harry Potter show building houses the Ministry of Magic and a new state-of-the-art dark ride. Finally, we end with shots of hub fountains which are expected to perform a Bellagio-like fountain show throughout the day.

Happy Birthday!!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that both Revenge of the Mummy and Poseidon’s Fury will be good to go during my trip dates (22-26th of Sept) as they both have a special place in my heart. Thanks for the updates!
Also I keep reading the new Universal theme park as ‘Eric Universe.’ I guess we get to pick which one…?
