Disney After Hours: New Spring and Summer Dates in 2023
Disney After Hours continues in 2023 with dates announced for two new parks – EPCOT and Typhoon Lagoon – and additional dates announced for Hollywood Studios. Tickets for new dates announced today will go on sale February 28, 2023 for guests of select Disney World Resort hotels, and March 3, 2023 to the general public.
What Are Disney After Hours Events?
After Hours is a separate “hard-ticket” event that is held after regular park hours. After Hours attendees can enter the park up to 1 hour before closing without needing to use regular admission, and the event itself is 3 hours. These events offer
- A selection of snacks and treats included for free
- Shorter lines for attractions
They are similar to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but with some important differences:
- After Hours events don’t offer themed entertainment extras like parades and fireworks unless. (Some special After Hours offerings with names like “Villains After Hours” may offer entertainment extras).
- Since they begin after regular hours, crowd patterns during the day aren’t affected. And if you’re attending a party at the Magic Kingdom, you can arrive toward the end of regular hours to see the fireworks before the event starts.

Do you know how quickly the events sell out? Disney’s site says sales start March 3rd for the May dates. Also, is it typically midnight of the release day when sales start? Thanks for all your articles!
Hi J, many dates do sell out but it’s not typically instantaneous. Sorry, I don’t know what time they sales actually become “live”.
Have a great trip!
Do you think MK will add any summer after hours dates?
Hi Mary – this is personal opinion, not an official TP position, but no, I don’t think they will. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that TRON opens on Apr. 4 and the last MK After Hours date is March 27th. I’m not exactly sure how Disney’s logic plays out around this, but my guess is that they’ll wait until TRON has been open a bit before offering any more After Hours dates in the MK.
Does the same go for Hollywood Studios? I’m hoping for some July dates!
We’ll see when Disney tells us but if they continue to sell out as they have been I’d say your odds are good.
