Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. That’s right, we’re out here hitting the white hot Florida pavement to provide you, Dear Reader, with the content you demand while The Blogging Elite™ like Seth Kubersky are out traveling the world and taking pictures of places like Walt Disney Studios Paris and something called “Efteling” (sounds made up to us). I’m not saying Seth doesn’t like America as much as we do (although I’m not not saying it either) but we here at the SATURDAY SIX would rather focus on things going on in American Made theme parks such as Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights or Disneyland’s Mickey’s Halloween Party. Heck, what’s more American than an Indiana Jones themed bar in the middle of Disney Springs?! Readers of this fine blog are known to have their heart size increase 7% annually, and that can be attributed solely to patriotism (technically 20% to patriotism, the other 80% to fried foods).

Before we officially start I’d also like to introduce everyone to our latest Outlet Intern Julia Mascardo. After exhaustive research top therapists concluded that I can spend, at most, 30 minutes in the Disney Outlet Store before I lose my mind. Julia will be picking up the slack by getting extra pictures after I run away screaming. Before you congratulate her, keep in my mind our last intern – the lovely Daisy Lauren – was last seen in a Duffy gift shop in Tokyo Disney Sea. This job is not for the weak.

Enough jibber jabber! Who is ready to hit the Outlets? Remember that clicking on any picture will open a full size version of it (don’t say we didn’t warn you).

You may remember last month we didn’t cover any Tsum Tsums, and that’s because there weren’t any new ones. This month there was only one and I actually had absolutely no idea who it was. Found out it was Jumba Jookiba from the movie Lilo & Stitch. Of course I bought it. #TheStruggleIsReal

The next item reminded me of a particularly good episode of The Office on NBC. There was one character who needed to declare bankruptcy because of how poorly he handled money. The character was shown a powerpoint presentation breaking down where he spent his money including one area marked “things no one ever ever needs.” In the world of Disney merchandise, this OLAF RAIN GAUGE falls into that category. This one of those rare items that it’s hard to believe actually even exists, but thank God they do.

You didn’t think we were done with Olaf did you?! Here is an Olaf Garden Statue to join that weird Bent Over Lady you may already have in your lawn warning people passing by that a possible crazy person lives in the neighborhood.

Turns out the Olaf garden gnome wasn’t even the weirdest thing for the lawn this month, check out this one featuring Chip and Dale. Here’s what I don’t get, why are they not colored like the ground below them? Wouldn’t that look much better?

Okay, I’m a HUGE fan of the Enchanted Tiki Room so you better believe I bought this Tiki Appetizer Set. Originally $39.95, marked down to $19.99.

These great bowls came with a nice little board to hold them all. Loved it. Of course the way Disney packs merchandise I also was recipient of about 25 pounds of packing material just to make sure they stayed safe for the walk to my car.

I also bought these Mickey Mouse bamboo plates. Bought four of them. Originally $16.95, marked down to $6.99. A guy in line next to me to cash out asked how much they were and immediately went back to grab some.

This was an interesting one. A “Draw On Me Canister with Spoon.” Originally $21.95, marked down to $9.99. Bought a couple of these for the kids in our family, although I’m not exactly sure what I am supposed to use to write on them.

I also got this Set of 4 Measuring Cups because I think they will make a good Christmas gift.

Now this I didn’t buy. Just a Set of 3 Canisters that was originally $59.95!

If you would have told me there would be a piece of Figment merchandise that I passed on I would have said “you be crazy” but sure enough I wasn’t a big fan on this coffee mug. I like that little logo on the inside of the cup more than the sketch drawings on the outside. Shame. Originally $12.95, marked down to $5.99.

Now I loved this Pinocchio coffee mug. Has a type of Mary Blair-inspired art that we saw in the Pirates of the Caribbean art print we looked at last month. Believe it or not I’ve never had a cup of coffee in my life. Ever. But if I did I would have bought this mug.

Here is a Phineas and Ferb Noisemaker. So the gimmick is your kid wears this like a duck bill and just keeps blowing on the mouth piece until you go absolutely insane. Over/Under on each one being used was 2.5 minutes. These were marked $7.95 and I didn’t see a discount price so it could be full price. There actually seems to be a growing number of NON DISCOUNTED MERCHANDISE IN AN OUTLET STORE. And you can imagine how happy I am about that.

How’s this for a next level bananas item, SNEAKER ACCESSORIES. Whaaaaaaat?! So it looks like you’re supposed to untied your entire shoe then slip one of these Mickey or Minnie things on and then lace it back up? I may have officially seen it all. Originally $9.95, reduced to $4.99.

How about a BFF band? Not sure what the originally price was, but this has been marked down TWICE and is still at $7.99. So you can imagine what it was originally marked at. And you can imagine the age of someone who would want to wear something with “BFF” on it. Sometimes I don’t think Disney understands their target audience at all.

If I had a character in any Disney film that best represented me it would clearly be Hercules Anger, from Inside Out. This Deluxe Talking Anger was originally $29.95 marked down to $14.99.

This Christmas on a Sleigh thing is pretty neat. Originally $44.95, marked down to $19.99. If you do buy things like this, always make sure there aren’t any broken pieces before leaving the store.

This Pluto and Christmas Tree ornament was originally $28.95, marked down to $9.99. I may have considered it if Chip and Dale were hidden in the tree.

Speaking of Pluto the dog, here is an actual dog leash from “Disney Tails.” I think this was sold at the pet kiosk at Disney Springs which carries almost no Disney branded products. Can you imagine? All the Disney films that represent cats, dogs, fish, birds and every other animal on Earth and the one store dedicated to pet products has almost nothing Disney branded. Insane.

Now this is a weird one. A Mailable Tree with Ornaments. So I guess you’re supposed to originally buy it for $34.95 then ship it to someone (for who knows how much.) Not shocked this one ended up here.

Lots of ornaments at the Outlet, but none of them all that interesting.

A reader asked if I thought the Rizzo the Rat ornament would be there when they hit the Outlet. Normally Muppets stuff flies off the shelf, but judging by this picture, they’ll be good.

We will be staying at Caribbean Beach Resort later this year, in a pirate room to boot, so I picked up a couple of these Skull and Crossbones Glow toys for the kiddos.

I’m not 100% sure what these potholders were for. It is the Laughing Cow cheese logo, so probably something from the Flower and Garden Festival. Originally $22.95, marked down $5.99.

We just had some sort of Lunar Eclipse or something this past week (not exactly sure, I was too busy watching Step Brothers for the 86th time) but for those of you who enjoy looking up at space here’s a Sorcerer Mickey hat with Disney constellations. Originally $17.95 marked down to $6.99.

You may have seen in the news that Orlando has an 8 foot cobra snake on the loose. Earlier this week, our bird disappeared into thin air one night. The next day I caught the culprit, another snake. Disney immediately jumped on the snake merchandise bandwagon and created this unwearable pair of Mickey Ears. Originally $19.95, marked down to just $3.99.  The SATURDAY SIX recently did an article on the Six Best Souvenirs at Walt Disney World and now I am regretting putting Mickey Ears on there. (UPDATE: I have been informed by the staff that these are possibly Dinosaur Mickey Ears. Maybe we need to take a vote.)

There’s always a bunch of prints at the Outlet but I generally don’t have the patience to photograph them. Thankfully our new intern took a bullet on these. I saw them originally over a year ago in the Centerpiece store at the Marketplace Co-op in Disney Springs. Fun stuff. Originally $24.95, marked down to $9.99

Some great Rocketeer prints by artist Robert Jimenez. Originally $39.95, now just $19.99.

We recently did a review of Disney’s BoardWalk and one of the items we spotlighted from their gift shop was this very same keychain. Glad I held off on buying it. Originally $8.95, reduced to $3.99.

Our next item is the world’s smallest set of playing cards. Originally $4.95, reduced to $2.99.

There is a whole set of 52 cards, with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald as the face cards, along with two Joker cards using Pluto. I used a quarter to show scale. I imagine if kids played with these they would lose them probably during the first game. Good stocking stuffer though.

This 2015 Eraser Pack was originally $4.95, reduced to $1.99. Disney seems to sell a lot of erasers. I’m assuming that’s because the average person makes a lot of mistakes (as a Theme Park Blogger, I have no idea what that is like.)

If you are like me you may have hundreds of thousands of throw pillows in your house because your significant other is preparing for the upcoming worldwide pillow shortage, you may be interested in this Minnie Mouse one. Originally $24.95, marked down to $14.99.

This Haunted Mansion shirt is pretty neat as it was a lenticular one showing the portrait change as you walk by it. This was marked $36.95 and did not have a discount price.

That shirt did give me nightmare flashbacks though. It took me back to two years ago, when – like a complete idiot – I bought several of these “limited edition” Haunted Mansion iPhone 5 cases. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW AN iPHONE 6 WAS GOING TO COME OUT AND RUIN MY PROFITS?!!!

Looking forward to staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort one day, so enjoyed seeing this shirt. Originally $24.95, now $12.99.

Really like this Polynesian Resort shirt. Also marked down to $12.99.

Anger t-shirt. $21.95 marked down to $6.99. This is a child’s shirt and I just don’t understand the thought process of a parent buying something like this for a very young kid, but what do I know.

I really want to hate the “Minecraft” style of block designs, but I kinda like it in a way. This one features Marvel characters. Originally price was an INSANE $32.00, marked down to $14.99.

Wide World of Sports t-shirt. $24.95 marked down to $6.99.

And another WWoS shirt featuring Goofy dunking.

Disney Cruise Line Panama Canal shirt, originally $24.95, marked down to $4.99. Fantastic design and this must have been on heck of a sailing.

No one loves Disney’s Art of Animation Resort more than us, so always love seeing merch from there show up. This Ariel shirt was originally $29.95, marked down to $14.99. I imagine if this shirt was white and featured a colored-in Ariel it would fly off the shelves faster.

This shirt featuring Donald as one of the Queen’s guards was originally $24.95, marked down to $5.99.

In case you didn’t get the memo, Duffy the Disney Bear is leaving Epcot. You might not have heard because I was too busy jumping up and down and screaming in joy. This Duffy onesie was originally $24.95, marked down to $12.99.

Who would possibly buy a Spring Training 2015 flag for their car after spring training is over?! I’m not even sure why you would buy one when Spring Training is going on. I can see supporting your team, and I can definitely see one after your team wins a championship, but just “Spring Training?” That would be like me not using a Coke Zero flag, but instead one that celebrates “Drink Soda.” Originally $19.95, marked down to $6.99.

But that’s not even the weirdest sports item this month. Oh no, that goes to these ESPN Car Windshield Sun Shades.

This. Is. On. Your. Car.

There are actually two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. Both are in Orlando Premium Outlet shopping complexes, and they are called Disney’s Character Warehouse, presumably because The Land Of Misfit Toys was already trademarked. There is one Character Warehouse located on International Drive close to Universal Studios (4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819), and the other is on Vineland Avenue, right across I-4 near the exits to Disney World (8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821). For this edition of MMM, we went to the location near Universal and the one near Disney. NOTE THAT THE I-4 LOCATION IS CLOSED UNTIL EARLY OCTOBER (AT LEAST) FOR A REFURBISHMENT.

I get a lot of questions about this, so we’ll answer them here. You can order any item from the Disney Outlet Stores by calling the WDW Merchandise Guest Services (877-560-6477) There is a catch though, if the item is still available they will charge you full retail price for it, plus shipping. The Outlet Stores themselves do not ship merchandise.
