New Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Features

We haven’t covered the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique since they made some changes, so we paid a visit last week to check things out!

The Basics

  • Ages 3 – 12 only
  • On site costumes range in size from 3 – 14. There are select styles available in sizes 5/6P to 16/18P.
  • Disney’s website says each child may be accompanied by up to 2 guests to observe the experience, but we can confirm that minor children do not count toward this number. For example, if an 8-year old child is participating, both parents and other minor children will be able to come along and observe.
  • A credit card is required to secure a reservation but you will not be charged for the experience until you are at the Boutique and have made your package selections. There is a $10 cancellation fee for no shows or cancellations within 24 hours of your reservation.
  • The whole experience can take up to 90 minutes.
  • PhotoPass photographers are present inside the Boutique.
  • Located in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom between Cinderella Castle and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. You’ll find stroller parking is just outside the check-in area near the fountain.

New Features

In the past, Guests would check-in, review plastic cards with hairstyle options and package prices. The Boutique has now moved to tablets and they have expanded the descriptions for each offering – hair, package, dress options. Below are a few of the shots we captured during our visit last week.

In the past, when it was time to select a gown, guests would be escorted into the salon area of the boutique with all of the dresses and outfits spread out like any other merch location. Disney has now added “Adaptive Offerings and Extended Sizes” icons to the dress pages on the tablet provided at check-in to reduce issues in the salon. This likely takes away some of the disappointment in selecting a gown only to hear that they don’t carry your size or aren’t able to accommodate physical needs. The image above shows the icons to look for when searching for adaptive offerings or extended sizes. Only the Cinderella and Aurora gowns offered both during our visit. The images below show the remaining outfit choices available during our visit.

Mirabel and Isabela gowns are currently available for $69.99 each plus tax as an “extra” outfit that can be added to your package. Below are the package options that were available during our visit.

The Fairy Tale Package
The Adventure Package
The Kingdom Package

No matter which package you pick, your child will get have some time at the Boutique inside the castle.

Our favorite new addition to the Bibbidi Bobbidi experience is the presence of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother! Disney’s website says that she “may” stop by and is therefore not guaranteed, but she was present and very engaged during our visit last week. She was beautifully dressed and had a few special words with each of the children present.

Virtual and real Fairy Godmother at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

The magic mirror portion of this experience remains the same. This part of the experience comes after your child has chosen their package, hair, outfit, and any other accessories. Once the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice has subtly checked your child’s head for skin or scalp conditions (like lice), you’ll be ushered into a royal changing room where you’ll get to record your child’s visit from the Fairy Godmother. Our fabulous model, Charlotte, can be seen pre-transformation in the image above. Once your child is in a comfortable and fitted outfit, it’s time for a royal escort to the actual Boutique.

The right side of the image above shows a visit from the Fairy Godmother during the primp and polish phase of the experience! This is new and takes place inside the Boutique at the base of Cinderella Castle.

If you happen to secure an early appointment, like 8:00am, don’t panic about not being let in on time. You’ll tap in the main gate along with everyone else, and head to Adventureland where a Cast Member with a lollipop sign will direct you to the correct castle path. You will be able to check in up to 5 minutes prior to your reservation. You may be able to find a walk-up reservation on slower days, too.

Many thanks to our fantastic model, Charlotte, for allowing us to capture such a special day.

Have you treated your child to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? What did you think of the experience?

Hi! I just booked BBB for my daughter and son. Are any enhancements available for the adventure package, or is it just the one shirt options for kids who wish to become knights?

Hi Sarah! That’s going to be such fun! They didn’t have any Knight enhancements during our most recent visit, but that doesn’t mean it won’t change. My advice is to head to Sir Mickey’s across the walkway before your visit. They always, always have Knight accessories AND you can use your Annual Pass discount there. No AP discounts apply at the BBB. The Knight section is toward the back near the PhotoPass studio and Minnie statue. – Chrissy

Chrissy, this is so helpful. Thank you! The kids are so excited.

  • The photpass inside the BBB, is that included with your reservation, or is it still based on if you have purchased it for the day?

Hi KS – Good question! You’ll still need to purchase PhotoPass to have access to these pictures. If you’re looking for a nearby, cute backdrop, head to Sir Mickey’s just steps from the BBB exit. You can get free pixie dust and they have an adorable PhotoPass background where your child can pose. Ask a CM at the register for pixie dust and have your phone ready to record. The PhotoPass studio is at the back of the store near the Princess Minnie statue. You can take the pictures on your phone – just as you can inside the BBB – and skip the PhotoPass shots. This is also an excellent location to get a few accessories and outfits if you’re looking for the full “Kingdom Package” look without the $229+ price tag. You can use your Annual Pass discount at Sir Mickey’s and you can’t inside the BBB. -Chrissy
