Disney Cruise Line is out with details about its biggest ship yet – the Adventure.

Before we get to today’s news, you may want a refresh on the background of this ship. Formerly known as the Global Dream, this ship was purchased by DCL in late 2022 when its original owner, Genting Hong Kong filed for bankruptcy. Our friend Scott Sanders of the DCL Blog has a good rundown of that situation.

The Adventure will be based in Asia, sailing primarily three and four night itineraries from Singapore. Her maiden voyage is expected in 2025. This ship is significantly larger than the other Disney Cruise Line vessels, with a capacity of about 6,700 guests. As a point of comparison, the Disney Dream, Fantasy, and Wish all have a guest capacity of about 4,000 guests.

The Adventure will have areas themed to Disney, Pixar, and Marvel brands, with a focus on immersive experiences and entertainment.

According to Disney PR, you can expect to find seven themed areas on the Adventure:

  • In the Disney Imagination Garden, journey through an enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories – from Mowgli exploring the jungle to Moana taming the high seas. This imaginative gathering space will also be home to dazzling performances on an open-air stage.
  • At Disney Discovery Reef, travel down to the ocean floor to explore the nautical worlds of “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca” complete with uniquely themed shopping and dining options.
  • Inspired by the expansive world of “Big Hero 6,” San Fransokyo Street will be a bustling family entertainment area featuring interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more.
  • At Wayfinder Bay, be called by “the line where the sky meets the sea” to a poolside retreat reflecting the Pacific Islands-inspired artistry of “Moana” with some of the most stunning views aboard the Disney Adventure.
  • Venture into the enchanted Town Square — a fantastical forest filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues inspired by the magical kingdoms from “Tangled,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more.
  • Heroes will unite at Marvel Landing where Avengers-level adventure featuring thrilling attractions and all-new experience await.
  • At Toy Story Place, little ones will pal around with friends from Andy’s Room in a whimsical and interactive water play zone along with different themed food venues.

Disney’s recent announcement also mentions comfortable staterooms designed with families in mind, as well as concierge accommodations for those who want to splurge. This ship will also feature spa and fitness facilities and luxury shopping opportunities.
