The Best Hotels Near Disneyland Resort
In this post we’ll take a look at some of the best hotels near Disneyland Resort. We stay in a lot of hotels during our research producing TouringPlans and The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. There’s nothing scientific about our findings, we just know that the majority of our readers are looking for comfort, value, amenities (such as included breakfast), location, and convenience. All of the hotels listed in this post offer a combination of these things.

Best Hotel For Families Near Disneyland – Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort – Convention Center
Located next door to Disneyland Resort‘s Toy Story Parking area, and less than a mile down the road from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort – Convention Center is a hotel that is a great option for families visiting Disneyland Resort. Room configurations include multiple varieties of suits with beds and couches that are able to easily fit families. Some suites also have full kitchen setups to prepare and eat food. A breakfast buffet is included with your stay, which saves a ton of money compared to eating in the parks. It’s got a decent variety of hot food options, so we consider this a huge plus. One of the main benefits of staying here is its location next door to Disney’s Toy Story parking area. This gives you the option of making the 15 minute walk to the parks, or taking one of Disney’s Toy Story parking lot shuttles.

A similar option that we also recommend is Ramada by Wyndham Anaheim Convention Center.

Best Luxury Hotel Near Disneyland – JW Marriott Anaheim Resort
JW Marriott Anaheim Resort rooms have plenty of space. Standard rooms with two queen beds or a single king with pull-out bed are 390 square feet. If you’ve got a near unlimited budget, JW Marriott Anaheim has 19 suites that reach up to 1723 square feet in size. You can expect plush amenities, such as unbelievably soft robes, in-room Keurig coffee makers, gloriously soft linens, and a heated outdoor pool. Be sure to check out the enormous two-story chandelier hangs between the first and second levels of the lobby. JW Marriott is connected to Anaheim GardenWalk, and Disneyland Resort is just .9 miles away, or about a 15 minute walk.

The Westin Anaheim Resort is also another great choice for those looking for luxury accommodations. We chose JW Marriott over The Westin because of its location. The Westin is at a inconvenient spot behind Disney California Adventure, which means you either have to make a 15-20 minute walk up through the Downtown Disney entrance near Disneyland Hotel, or on the opposite side of Disneyland Resort on Harbor Blvd.

Most Convenient Hotel Near Disneyland – Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites
Desert Inn is the ultimate no frills hotel near Disneyland. It’s boring, dated, and lacking any character. But none of that matters thanks to its unbeatable location. It’s located directly across the street from Disneyland Resort’s Harbor Blvd security checkpoint. That means you can hop out of bed, cross the street, and be in the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in less than 10 minutes. That’s closer than any of the official Disney hotels, which is a huge plus. Desert Inn’s neighboring hotels, which are Park Vue Inn, Best Western Plus Park Place Inn, and Tropicana Inn & Suites, are also good options. They’re all cheap motels with bare bone amenities, so go with whichever is cheapest during your stay.

Best On-Site Hotel at Disneyland Resort – The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Some people may consider picking The Villas at Disneyland Hotel over Disney’s Grand Californian to be blasphemy, but hear us out. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel have the most modern and functional rooms of any of the on-site options at Disneyland Resort. There’s a range of rooms including studios that sleep 2, all the way up to 1, 2, and 3-bedroom villas that can sleep 5, 9, and 12, respectively. Rooms include either a kitchenette or full kitchen, plenty of luggage storage, great bathrooms and showers, world-class pools, close access to Downtown Disney, and about a 10 minute walk to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. You will pay a significant premium to stay here or any of the other official Disney hotels, but it may be worth it if you’re in the mood to splurge.

Best Sleek and Modern Hotel Near Disneyland – The Viv Hotel Anaheim
These days you may hear the term “modern” and think of the many bland and boring hotel chains. In recent years hotels, including some by Disney themselves, have opted for a plain and clean aesthetic that many people think lack charm and character. The Viv proves a hotel can still have a modern look while also including interesting touches and design elements. The Viv’s rooms are also functional as well. In other words, this hotel is not just style over substance. Our favorite feature of The Viv is its rooftop lounge and heated pool, both of which have views of Disneyland’s fireworks spectaculars. The main drawback for the Viv is it’s location. It’s 1.1 miles away from Disneyland, which isn’t so bad in the morning, but it can be annoying at night after you’ve spent all day walking around a theme park.

Element Anaheim Resort Convention Center is a similarly sleek and modern hotel we enjoy and recommend. They also have a great breakfast buffet included with your stay.

Has any further information come up about the shuttles from the Toy Story lot when the anaheim buses shut down?
The only thing Disney has said is that they will have a replacement. I’m guessing they will have something set up immediately after ART ends service and there won’t be any interruption to the Toy Story buses.
