Summary

The food is filling but chain-restaurant mediocre, giving new meaning to “all you can eat.” Still, the retro-Disney setting is worth experiencing at least once. You won’t be going back for seconds.

Setting and Atmosphere

With the popular Soarin’ attraction nearby, the allyou- can-eat Garden Grill stays busy, even though the concept and the dining room have grown rather dated. Even so, it’s a classic: The floor revolves slowly as you peer down into the unseen side of scenes from Living with the Land, the Land Pavilion’s ride-through attraction. At about the time you finish a meal, you’ve revolved once, past scenes of a desert, a rainforest, and a farm—an otherwise hidden view of inside the farmhouse. The constant crowing of a “rooster” and dog barks are questionable highlights. Much more exciting for kids are the Disney characters—Mickey, Chip ’n’ Dale, and others make stops at tables for photo ops and greetings, a far easier way for the kids to get photos and autographs than standing in line outside, but way more expensive.

House Specialties

Beef fillet, turkey breast with stuffing and gravy, and sustainable fish of the day; buttermilk mashed potatoes, veggies, and salads made with ingredients from The Land’s greenhouses. Dessert is a seasonal cobbler with vanilla-bean whipped cream. The kids’ menu includes turkey breast with whole-grain rice pilaf, mac and cheese, chicken drumsticks, sweet potato sticks, and broccoli.
