New Disney Cruise Line Ship Has A Name-The Wish
I could not be more excited about this news! You see, I love me some Disney Cruise Line and I have been anxiously awaiting the name of the fifth ship, which will be part of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
Today, at the D23 Expo, we learned that the new ship would be called the Disney Wish. The name is fitting because making wishes come true is at the heart of so many Disney stories.
We also got a peek at the fantastic atrium, which is inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairytale. The atrium will be will be a bright, airy and an elegant space.
We also learned which Disney character would be gracing the back of the ship: adorning the Disney Wish will be Rapunzel! Rapunzel will be featured with paintbrush in hand and of course she will be using her hair to suspend herself. She will of course be helped by her sidekick, Pascal. Rapunzel embodies the wish and desire to see and experience the world, which is why she is the perfect choice to adorn this vessel.
There are three new cruise ships coming for Disney Cruise Line and all three ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas and, at approximately 144,000 gross tons and 1,250 guest staterooms, they will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
We’ll have to wait a little while before we can board the new ship as the Disney Wish won’t set sail until January 2022.
The Wish(TM)? Were Magic(TM), Dream(TM), Fantasy(TM), and Wonder(TM) taken?
Oh, right…
