25 Drinks of Christmas – Day 13: “LOST LANES” PILSNER at Splitsville (Disney Springs)

The Christmas season is our absolute favorite time of the year. Growing up, one of the little things I loved most was getting an Advent calendar and counting down the days until Santa would be coming down the chimney. As I grew older, I had to leave Advent calendars in the rear view mirror,* but I still miss that daily countdown building anticipation to the big day. So, we’re going to start a virtual Advent calendar here at TouringPlans. For 2022, we are going to countdown our favorite drinks at Walt Disney World and the Universal Orlando Resort.

Criteria: Drinks can be alcoholic or nonalcoholic. Drinks can come from any venue on the property. Bonus points are awarded for the atmosphere where the drink is served. Any drink with glow cubes is immediately disqualified. Ready? Let’s go!

The Drink – “Lost Lanes” Pilsner
Location – Splitsville Luxury Lanes (Disney Springs)

“Lost Lanes” Pilsner. We mentioned in our look at Dockside’s Oasis Beach Bar in yesterday’s drink article that we are huge fans of beers that are exclusive to a venue, so imagine our surprise when a new brew showed up at Splistville!

We contacted noted Disney Historian/rabble-rouser @Schmoofy to get the backstory of this exclusive brew. The “Lost Lanes” name comes from one of the changes that Splitsville has undertaken since it opened back in 2012. Let’s take a look at Splitsville from years ago and notice on the left hand side of the building is a bunch of planters in front of wall. On the other side of that wall were bowling lanes.

In 2021, Splitsville reimagined that portion of a building into the Bamboo Bar, which accepts walk-up customers. Directly across from the Bamboo Bar is Everglazed Donuts.

Bamboo Bar has both outdoor and indoor seating available. To make way for the Bamboo Bar, Splitsville removed four bowling alley lanes. Hence the name “Lost Lanes” Pilsner, as the building lost 4 bowling lanes to make room for a bar.

Splitsville is definitely one of the best ways to spend an “off day” on Disney property, as bowling is a fun-for-all-ages activity, but many have no idea that Splitsville is also one of the better restaurants at Disney Springs (and imagine what that is saying!)

Come for the pizza, burgers, and – yes – even sushi, as the menu at Splitsville can compete with anyone on WDW property in terms of value and taste.

There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating at Splitsville, so getting a table can generally be easier than several of Disney Springs more “in demand” restaurants. We also get asked one question all the time “where is the best place to watch pro sports at WDW?” For us the answer is easy: Splitsville.

The 25 Drinks of Christmas series couldn’t be done without an All Star team behind us including world class photographers Michael Carelli, Brandon Glover, Scott Sanders, and Hedghehog’s Corner. The drink listing came from a double-secret blue ribbon panel comprised of SAT SIX Fun Squaders including: Megan Stump, Nitro230,The Man Formerly Known as @DrunkAtDisney, Bethany Vinton, Parkscope Joe and Parkscope Nick. As always, Digital Maestro Scott Walker was the cherry on top of the sundae.

*That is an absolute lie. I still buy an advent calendar every year with chocolates in it, and I also buy an annual box of Christmas Crunch, but we’ll keep that between us.
