One of the highlights of the D23 Expo is always the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products (DPEP) panel. Usually held on the last day, this is where Disney communicates updates about projects going on in the Disney ecosphere, as well as plans for new development or changes. In this post, we’ll run down all everything we learned about what’s coming for Disney Cruise Line.

New Ship: Disney Treasure

When COVID hit in March 2020, Disney had three new ships under construction. The first was the Disney Wish, which set sail this summer. Next up is the Disney Treasure!

The Treasure will be built around the theme of adventure, and features Aladdin, Jasmine, and Carpet in the atrium character statue. The Treasure is expected to launch in 2024.

Lighthouse Point

Castaway Cay is going to get a sibling, as we heart more details about Disney’s second private port of call in the Bahamas. Lighthouse Point will be located on the island of Eleuthera but unlike Castaway Cay, Disney doesn’t own the whole island. Accordingly, Lighthouse Point will represent the rich culture of the Bahamas.

Seen in Disney’s concept art below is a “vibrant beach retreat” with opportunities for shopping, play, and of course, dining.

Wonder Sailing to the South Pacific

When DCL’s Fall 2023 itineraries were released in July, the Wonder was noticeably absent. Now we know where she’s going! Beginning in October 2023, the Wonder will be sailing in Australia and New Zealand, offering 2- and 3-night itineraries. These sailings will feature experiences and activities based on Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.

To reach these ports, the Wonder will make a total of 4 repositioning cruises, with two on each end of her stint Down Under. These cruises will offer the first ever South Pacific ports of call for DCL.

13-night South Pacific cruise from Honolulu to Sydney

15-night South Pacific cruise from Sydney to Honolulu
Sail date: 2/16/24 Ports of call: Noumea, New Caledonia; Lautoka, Fiji; Pago Pago, American Samoa; Kahului, Maui

10-night Hawaiian cruise from Honolulu to Vancouver
Sail date: 3/1/24 Ports of call: Hilo (Big Island), Nawiliwili (Kauai), Kahului (Maui)
