Do you like Epcot? Do you like staying late at Walt Disney World theme parks? Do you like adult beverages? If, like us, your answer to all three questions is “heck yes,” then Epcot has a new treat for you. Beginning on April 17, several venues around World Showcase will begin holding Epcot After Hours Wind Down alcohol tasting events on select nights after the park officially ends operations for the day.

The after hours events will run from 9:20 p.m. (immediately after the end of IllumiNations) until 11:00 p.m., and are scheduled to run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. Each tasting session will cost $35 per person (plus your park admission), and includes wine or spirits samplers and small bites at one four different locations.

The venues scheduled to participate are:

Each tasting session will last approximately 30 minutes, and you may only choose ONE restaurant per evening. A different selection of beverages and appetizers will be offered at each participating location. For example, at La Cava you’ll receive a flight of 3 tequilas (blanco, reposado, añejo) and a trio of appetizers, including ceviche and tostadas. After your session, you will be allowed to stay in World Showcase until 11:00 p.m., though it is currently unclear what access you will be allowed to the pavilions during that time.

The Epcot After Hours Wind Down alcohol tasting events are scheduled to continue on Thursdays through Sundays until September 15, 2014. You can make your reservations for the events at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/after-hours.

  • I love the idea of hanging out at a cool establishment for a few hours after the parks. I’m not thrilled by the $35 price for what you get, but I guess that will keep it from being too crazy crowded.

    • Agreed, though if the tasting includes 3 full-sized drinks and three substantial appetizers, it isn’t outrageous by theme park prices. You are definitely paying for the atmosphere, like at all WDW eateries…

  • Avoiding the mass exodus alone would make this worth it! I do wish it included as many tasting as you could fit in.

  • One more question- Anyone know if there will be a TiW discount?

  • What about nights where Epcot has EMH? Will they run later?

    • I was just thinking the same thing. Rose and Crown is usually open later on those nights (not sure about other locations as Rose & Crown is our favorite).

Also, any idea what is on the menu for the other locations? I saw the La Cava items listed above.

      • AFAIK the menus have not been published, we go the La Cava listings from an inside source. Also not sure how they will handle EMH — I’m not sure the people running it are either yet 😉
We are attending on the 18th & will report details ASAP!

      • Menus for La Cava, Tutto Gusto, and Spice Road Table are available! If you go to the Disney website, and search “Epcot After Hours”, there is an link to go to each location’s page in the description section. When it opens on the specific location’s page, click on Menu on the top right, and it will display the menu for the event. It is just not available for R&C yet 🙂

  • You can book now! From the Disney site, search for “Epcot Wind Down”. If you click on the first result, you can book your reservation. I was able to find menus for Morocco, Italy, and Mexico. Still can’t find the menu for Rose & Crown. If someone can find it, please let me know as that’s the one we’ve booked 🙂
