Hollywood Studios Quick Service Lunch & Dinner – Ranked!
Quick Service at Hollywood Studios has a wide range of quality, but over a long day of touring you’re going to need to eat somewhere. So, where should you stop? Ladies & gentlemen, that is the question of the day: We’ve ranked your options for eating Quick Service lunch & dinner at Hollywood Studios based on their ratings in TouringPlans user surveys. One thing to keep in mind: Quick Service locations get very busy around lunch; arrive by 11:30 or closer to 1 pm to avoid spending a long time in line and waiting for a seat. Mobile Ordering in advance can help, but when the line is backed up it takes longer to pick up Mobile Order too. The dinner crowd tends to be a bit more spread out.
#1: Woody’s Lunchbox
Woody’s doesn’t have an extensive menu, but it also has no losers and the lineup is definitely on theme (see it here). If you’re just looking for a snack to share I know quite a few who swear by the Totchos. The biggest knock on Woody’s, which gets a 91% rating, isn’t about the food — it’s the fact that it’s technically a Quick Service Kiosk and not a Quick Service Restaurant, and therefore all the seating is a) outdoors and b) woefully inadequate. Plan to eat at an off hour, or to carry your food away to some other location outside of Toy Story Land where you can actually sit down to eat it.
#2: Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Just fractionally in second place – that is, also with a 91% rating – is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Galaxy’s Edge. The dishes have fancy names (Kashyyyk Beef and Sweet Topato Salad), and sometimes they have out-of-this-world plating. But underneath all the show you’ll find fairly familiar American food, dressed up a bit with a few flavors from Asia or the Southwest. (See the menu)
There’s a strong argument that Docking Bay 7 should actually hold down the #1 slot. Ronto Roasters is the top-rated Quick Service in Hollywood Studios, but we didn’t list it separately because its menu is limited. After 3 pm though, you can find the Ronto Wraps here in Docking Bay 7.
#3: ABC Commissary
You can’t miss ABC Commissary as you pass through the eponymous Commissary Lane between Echo Lake and Grand Avenue. True to its “we’re a cafeteria” backstory, there’s no unifying theme to the menu, although it does give off faintly eclectic California Cuisine vibes. The food is good enough to get a 90% rating even though very little of it is fried; if you’re looking for healthy options in Hollywood Studios this is one of your best bets. (See the menu here)
#4: Backlot Express
You’ll find the Backlot Express on the back side of Echo Lake, just past the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. The menu is pretty un-spectacular, with a lineup of salads and burgers, but the quality is fine. It won’t be the most exciting meal you eat in a theme park, but it will get the job done and you likely won’t be sorry about it; on surveys, Backlot Express scores an 86%, which is about average. (See the menu here)
#5: Sunset Ranch Market (Fairfax Fare, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, Catalina Eddie’s)
OK so, this one takes a little ‘splaining. Sunset Ranch Market is a group of Quick Service Kiosks and food stands on Sunset Boulevard, kind of like a little open-air food court. Kiosks are challenging in these rankings, because we usually try to stick to places that have some variety in their menu and kiosks often don’t. Between all three kiosk locations here, you should be able to find something to make every member of your group happy … but there’s a catch.
This 5th place ranking belongs to Fairfax Fare, which has the most limited menu (mostly barbecue bowls) but an 85% rating. (Fairfax Fare menu) Rosie’s All-American Cafe has the burger game covered, but just a 78% rating, so if burgers is most of what you’re looking for … maybe Backlot Express would be better? (Rosie’s All American Cafe menu) And Catalina Eddie’s proffers up pizza … but it’s the worst-rated Quick Service location in all of Hollywood Studios at 74%. (Catalina Eddie’s menu)
#6: PizzeRizzo
Straight up, just in case you’ve never been to Disney World: pizza is not its forte. PizzeRizzo in Grand Avenue is not the exception to that rule. But while the individual pies here aren’t great, they aren’t terrible either, and the Muppet-y charm of the upstairs seating area makes up for a lot of culinary mediocrity. If you’re looking for a familiar but not-stellar meal that will make your picky eaters happy, or you just love to love the Muppets, this might be your pick. (See the menu here)
#7: Dockside Diner
On the front side of Echo Lake you’ll find the small tramp steamer that houses the Dockside Diner. And on the menu you’ll find a variety of hot dogs. Whether you like your dog covered in bacon, mac & cheese, or both, you can find it here. It’s fine, but you probably won’t find that anything is exceptional (it receives a well-below average 77% rating), and this is definitely food that’s going to weigh you down on a hot day. I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to consume bacon-covered mac & cheese amidst a day’s touring in the summer heat, I want it to taste amazing. Dockside Diner’s food does not taste amazing.
