Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. February during a leap year, is there a better month on the calendar? We think not! Yes, Disney did introduce tiered pricing of tickets, but Your Humble Author did provide Tiered Payment Options. Thanks to the Disneyland 60 special (which surprisingly didn’t have much to do with Disneyland), we finally got some details on Star Wars Land. Speaking of Disneyland, it was rumored that DL guru Guy Selga immediately ripped up his annual pass after stepping through Hogsmeade Village during the Wizarding World’s soft open. We in Florida got news that the Dream Along With Mickey stage show, which ran for an amazingly long 68 years at the Magic Kingdom, is going to be replaced by Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire this summer. Just a whole bunch of win, and thanks to Leap Year we get an extra day to bask in it!

Now while all of you were out taking your kids to see Deadpool, Outlet Intern Julia Mascardo and I were hard at work to bring you the quality Outlet coverage you expect deserve!

Enough jibber jabber! Who is ready to hit the Outlets? Remember that clicking on any picture will open a full size version of it (don’t say we didn’t warn you).

First up, the newest Tsum Tsums to hit the store were from the Lilo and Stitch line, including this one featuring Lilo herself.

A little backstory on this next one. Two years ago this very month, I was finally brave enough to do my first “live tweeting” from the main TouringPlans twitter account. Everything went well until I went to a gift shop in Tomorrowland and commented on a Pink Stitch plush. Apparently I’m the only human being on Earth who didn’t know that was Stitch’s girlfriend Angel. That may actually be the last day I live tweeted from the TouringPlans account as well. Anyway, here is the Pink Stitch Angel Tsum Tsum.

Thanks to Disneylanders like Guy Selga and Tom Bricker, who notoriously have deep pockets but short arms, more Disneyland merchandise has hit the Outlets. This time it is items created for the Disneyland 60th anniversary from last year. First up is this truck, which I actually had to have. Originally $24.95, reduced to $9.99.

This diamond paperweight thing is actually a photo frame. Whaaaaaat? To hold a 2.6″ by 2.6″ picture. WHO FRAMES THEIR PASSPORT PHOTO?!  Shocking this one didn’t sell. Was originally $39.95, reduced to $9.99.

Here is a pair of Mickey and Minnie plush that may have led to Kayne West’s epic Twitter meltdown earlier this month. Originally $24.95, this were reduced to $14.99 each.

As you can see, plenty are available.

Remember back in December when Disney World pulled all the guns from their parks? Every single type of gun just completely disappeared? Well,

WE FOUND ‘EM.

Both of the Disney Outlet Stores were so overrun with guns they could have qualified to be NRA Outlet Stores. Here’s one from Frontierland that was originally $21.95, reduced to $9.99.

Here is Chewbacca’s bowcaster. Originally $24.95, now $9.99. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out this “Chewie and Ben” comic strip by Tyson Murphy. WARNING, make sure you have watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens first. In 12 panels, a better – and more emotionally satisfying – story is told than in the entire three Star Wars prequel films.

Speaking of Star Wars, here is Boba Fett’s blaster. This was originally $26.95, reduced to $12.99. I bought this because I always wanted one growing up.

I’ve actually become addicted to the old western television show The Rifleman, and was tempted to pick up this rifle if it wasn’t going to burn my retinas out. Originally $18.95, now $9.99.

Here’s another one I bought because I used to beg my parents to buy me one after riding Pirates of the Caribbean. I got the last laugh!

Here we have a cowboy gun (originally $15.95, now $5.99) and another pirate one (Originally $17.95, now $6.99). I also bought this Pirates gun. This is something pretty unique to men, right? I don’t think too many women go around buying toys from their childhood.

Here’s a pirate gift set that included a gun. Originally $12.95, now $4.99. I got this set for the little guy in our family who is obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I did take out the gun first though. Why?  Because my parents were right. Turns out they got the last laugh after all.

An Indiana Jones gun. Originally $12.95, now $5.99.

You can’t blame us guys of a certain age for loving guns. A Han Solo blaster was the greatest Christmas gift I ever got, GI Joe and Tranformers fought all their battles with guns, and who could forget this scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Guns were just something we were brought up with and was ingrained in our psyche, kinda like how entitlement is for today’s #Millenials.

Here we have Zurg’s Purge Blaster from Toy Story 2. Originally $19.95, reduced to $6.99.

A Buzz Lightyear themed blaster. Originally $19.95, now $5.99)

There was even guns on keychains. I guess I never realized how many guns there were in the parks. Seeing them all together like this must make people think we were all going to some Donald Trump rally.

A Zurg Popper. Originally $8.95, now $6.99.

Buzz Lightyear bubble gun. Yes, bubble gun. This must have been sold on one of those carts at the park where every price is a color so that parents just say yes faster to shut their kids up. Reduced to $7.99 from “Red.”

Here is a “light up” bubble gun where you can see the batteries in the handle. That’s pretty neat. Also reduced to $7.99.

Seeing these bubble guns in the Outlet Store reminded me of the 12 Days of a Theme Park Christmas article.

Here is one of those toys which keeps parents up at night. A sleeping Beauty play set featuring about 1000 small accessories. As kids though, this is what we love the most. Originally $19.95, now $8.99. From personal experience I can tell you that the multiple slippers that come with this set are slightly bigger than an electron, after having spent seemingly hours in a car looking for them.

Here’s another set featuring Ariel. Also originally $19.95, now $8.99.

I don’t understand these “baby” character plush at all, but they seem to be popular in my family. We were at Animal Kingdom this past fall and I told one Princess she could literally pick out any toy she wanted in the entire park. She chose the Baby version of the gorilla from Disney’s Tarzan. THAT’S INSANE. She’s never even seen Tarzan! I of course chose a much more sensible choice, a Mickey Mouse lightsaber.

Agent P plush. Pretty good price for the size of it.

This Olaf thing is actually a hat, apparently designed to identify crazy people. Originally $29.95, marked all the way down to $4.99.

We’ve seen the Kermit and Animal hats before, but this is a first time for the Sweetums hat. Originally $29.95, now $9.99.

A next level bonkers Donald as Darth Maul winter hat. Originally $24.95, now $9.99.

Creepy Madame Leota Mickey Ears.

This was a giant Minnie Mouse witch hat. I actually got one of these for our house for upcoming Halloweens. Originally $24.95, now $14.99.

Pieces of Disney Train and Trolley track. Nowhere near as cool as Monorail track. It’s like Go-Bots compared to Transformers.

This was a cute Minnie Mouse purse for kids. Lots of pockets inside. Originally $24.95, now $9.99.

Here is a DVC bag reduced to $41.99 and a Vera Bradley one for $59.99. Not sure of the original prices. The DVC bag is a little controversial in some circles, as there are a few DVC owners that don’t think non-DVC members should be able to buy exclusive DVC merchandise. Don’t know what to say to that other than the obvious, if you bought this stuff in the first place it wouldn’t be at the Outlets.

These 2015 pins were massively discounted. The Figment one was just 99 cents (from $11.95!) while the Cinderella one was originally $9.95 and brought down to $1.99.

A couple of Disney purse themed keychains. $2.99 each.

Not a big fan of this Minnie with a bow inside a bow one.

I didn’t understand this at all. Recently at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort I saw something similar that you could use to put your phone in. Then you could take your phone into the lazy river (or pool, wherever). These were so small though that they could hold maybe some credit cards. Or I guess your park ticket if you had no Magic Band. A couple cigarettes? Originally $6.95, now $2.99.

Bought this awesome villains magnet set that was originally at the Wonderground Gallery in Disney Springs. Originally $14.95, now $6.99.

Love Beauty and the Beast, love the song Be Our Guest, don’t love this coffee mug. This made its debut at the Centerpieces store in the Marketplace Co-op. Originally $14.95, now $5.99.

Here are some Aloha napkins. Originally $5.95, now $1.99. I bought a set of six for our dining room table.

Not to be outdone, Outlet Intern Julia actually has one framed in her house. And here you thought I was the crazy one. Turns out, I’m the normal one. What a twist! On a serious note, you all need to check out Julia’s weekly feature on the blog, Best Week Ever. Julia is alternating weeks with Dani, so stay tuned every Thursday for their adventures inside the Orlando theme parks.

There were some other Adventureland themed napkins available as well.

Disney has some of the coolest $5 postcards you’ll ever see. Now I don’t know exactly who buys $5 postcards, but they become much more reasonable when they hit the Outlets for $1.99

Who needs a Blue Fairy figurine? For just $50 it can be yours.

A Cinderella Christmas ornament from the recent live action movie version of Cinderella. I don’t think anyone was asking for this. Originally $24.95, now $7.99.

Star Wars ugly Christmas sweater t-shirt. Originally $19.95, now $4.99.

I feel like I’ve seen this shirt a million times, but this may actually be the first time at the Outlet. Originally $24.95, now $9.99. How GREAT would this shirt be if the snowman head in the middle is Olaf? THAT I would buy.

How can you not love this Donald Duck from the Three Caballeros Christmas ornament? Of course I got one of these. It appears to be from the Viva Navidad! street party out in Disney California Adventure. Even cooler.

Mickey and Minnie as Santa and Mrs. Claus Vinylmation. I got this set as the Vinylmation model works perfect when the characters are Mickey and MInnie. They look great.

Not so great? These Mickey and Minnie nutcrackers. They look like characters from Space Balls. I would love to see a documentary on people that collect nutcrackers as they must have some stories to tell.

We’re gonna close out with this possible Valentine’s Day hat. How can you top this? Reduced to $4.99, but it would cost you at least double that to get me to wear it for five minutes.

There are actually two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. Both are in Orlando Premium Outlet shopping complexes, and they are called Disney’s Character Warehouse, presumably because The Land Of Misfit Toys was already trademarked. There is one Character Warehouse located on International Drive close to Universal Studios (4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819), and the other is on Vineland Avenue, right across I-4 near the exits to Disney World (8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821).
