New Disneyland Star Wars Projection Show & More Announced for Season of the Force
The Star Wars themed celebration known as Season of the Force is coming back for 2025 and with it comes some exciting new announcements. In this post we’ll cover everything you can expect to see and do at Disneyland’s Season of the Force 2025, including the new Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga fireworks spectacular featuring an appearance from Luke Skywalker.
What’s New for Season of the Force 2025?
Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga is a new projection show which will take place nightly in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The show will be projected onto the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon and feature moments from the films that comprise the Skywalker saga.
Luke Skywalker will appear in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during Season of the Force. This isn’t the first time Luke has appeared at Disneyland but this will be the first time he’ll be in his cloak from Return of the Jedi. Much like the other Star Wars characters appearing in Galaxy’s Edge, this will not be a structured meet and greet, Luke will be roaming around the land.
What Else is Part of Season of the Force 2025?
The Hyperspace Mountain overlay for Space Mountain will be back for Season of the Force. This version of Space Mountain has everything a Star Wars fan could ask for, including encounters with TIE fighters, laser blasts, and of course John Williams iconic music from the Star Wars films.
On nights when Disneyland’s fireworks spectaculars are scheduled, Fire of the Rising Moons is a special soundtrack made specifically for this Galaxy’s Edge. John William’s legendary score is accompanied by a narration from a new character called, get ready for this, Tohan Lege, the Lore Weaver. The Lore Weaver explains he has “long since gone” but his voice and stories live on through his droid, Bard. Amazing stuff. 10 out of 10. No notes. Galaxy’s Edge was already my favorite spot to watch fireworks in Disneyland, but this makes it so much better.
Not new, but worth seeing is Star Tours. In recent years characters and locations from “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian” have been added to the ride along with the usual Skywalker Saga locations.
New food and merch will be available at the various shops and restaurants around Disneyland. Some highlights include Star Wars plush at the Create Your Own Headbands stations, a new retro collection from Her Universe, and a new storyline at Savi’s Workshop called “Reclaimed and Reforged.”
The Droid Parts Premium Vessel is a new popcorn bucket that is now available at Kat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This is limited to 10, yes TEN, per a person.
Season of the Force takes place March 28 through May 11, 2025. Be sure to check our Disneyland Resort crowd calendar to see the most and least busy days during your visit.
What are you looking forward to during Season of the Force? Let me know in the comments.
You should be embarrassed that there are no dates in this article. March 28 to May 11 for everyone wondering.
I love rude comments!
Tom Bricker’s read of the same press materials suggested that the Skywalker Saga show will be “just” a projection show. Separately, projections on the Batuu facade will be added to the existing Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks show.
