Cars Land Flo’s V8 Cafe Review
Flo’s V8 Cafe is a quick service restaurant located in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure. This diner themed to the Cars franchise of films serves up classic American comfort food, such as burgers and fried chicken. Since opening in 2012 Flo’s has been known for a menu that offers a variety of quality entrees, such as pot pies, tuna melts, and New York strip loin. But as with most Disneyland Resort restaurants, the menu has been stripped down significantly. In early 2026 Flo’s got yet another new menu, and today we’re going to take a look at some of the current items to see if Flo’s is worth a visit.
Up first we have the “Big Dipper” Cheeseburger for $15.99. You may look at this picture and think, “Wow that just looks like a hamburger cut in half and sitting in a shallow puddle of plastic cheese.” We’ll I’m here to tell you…
That’s exactly what it is. At this point in your life you should have an idea of what a baseline theme park hamburger tastes like. Perhaps you think it’s not particularly bad, or that it’s about the same quality you’d get at your local McDonalds. Both of those assumptions are true. This is a very average burger, it just so happens to be sitting in some nacho cheese, more specifically pepperoncini cheese sauce. Fries are also included, but the good thick cut steak fries Flo’s used to have are replaced by standard regular fries.

Get some extra napkins!

The Winner’s Circle Chicken and Waffle includes a piece of fried chicken and a buttermilk waffle with whipped butter and syrup. I usually love some chicken and waffles but this entire entree was bland. There’s nothing else to say about this so now I’ll get on my soap box. What happened to food at Disneyland Resort? For years we’ve seen good quick service entrees being replaced by worse items, as well as ingredients and items swapped out for cheaper/worse variations, such as the steak fries mentioned previously. This chicken and waffle entree replaced the fried chicken plate, which included three pieces of fried chicken, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. The price for that entree was only a couple of dollars more but the quality was much higher. This is $17.49. Almost eighteen dollars for a tiny piece of fried chicken and a waffle that tastes straight out of one of the motels on Harbor Blvd’s continental breakfast buffets. Just outrageous. But that’s not all!

The entree’s description in the Disneyland Resort app when you order lists maple syrup as an included condiment.
What do you actually get? You get a packet of one of those low tier garbage quality packets of “breakfast syrup” with no actual syrup in this.

Folks, we are not done yet with questionable items from Flo’s. Here we have the Stop Sign Cream Soda Pop for $7.79. This non-alcoholic beverage includes Sprite with house-made strawberry and coconut cream, and is topped with a house-made strawberry cream and strawberry-flavored flakes. When everything is mixed together you’re left with a milky concoction with Sprite-soaked strawberry cereal chunks floating around. This drink is an abomination and you should completely avoid it.
For dessert there’s vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or neopalitan shakes ($7.79). I opted for the neopalitan which was totally fine. Not great, just fine. If I had to do a blind taste test between Flo’s shakes and McDonald’s I would not be able to tell the difference. They taste identical to me. The “road gravel,” which is crushed Oreo cookies, is a nice touch.
Flo’s V8 Cafe can’t be talked about without mentioning the theming. At night the exterior really comes alive thanks to a plentiful amount of neon lights.

The inside is just as nice with plenty of Cars props, art work, and era-appropriate music.
I highly recommend eating in the outside patio that overlooks Radiator Springs Racers. This is one of my favorite places in DCA to sit and relax with friends.
We think this is one of the nicest views in any Disney restaurant.

Overall there is nothing on the current menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe that is worth your time and money. It’s worth visiting and taking a look around, especially if you’re a Cars fan. Other than that, Disney needs to seriously rethink this entire menu.

Thanks for this article. I used to love Flo’s breakfast but haven’t been in the park that early for a while.
We feel lucky the table service is subpar at Disneyland these days since we don’t have to decide between quick service and table service. We save time and money that way.
The breakfast was fantastic but unfortunately not offered anymore.
Do they still have the tamale breakfast? That was so delicious a few years ago.
Flo’s used to be our favorite quick service, but the decline in quality and items has made it a skip for us mostly. Its really too bad as its one of the best venues and settings.
Totally agree!!! Used to be favorite. Now rarely go. ☹️
We always went there for breakfast and it was the beat little breakfast spot for view and price and food…super disappointed my first time back in years and no breakfast
