• I will be traveling at the end of October. I do not plan to purchase Genie+. I have faith that the money I spent for your touring plan will help me navigate the attractions in the park.

• I thought I read somewhere that the Genie+ selections were limited to one time on each ride per day… I’m hoping that was just a bad dream I had, and I don’t see anything about it in Disney’s official info. I can say that when I had MaxPass at Disneyland (with my AP) it was great – we never waited for anything. But we also rode things several times if they were available, and I’m hoping that will be the case again.

  The whole pay-extra-for-one-ride idea seems over the top greedy to me. On a happier note, Space Mountain at WDW is one of my least favorite rides (although the DLR version is one of my favorites)…so I won’t be spending my hard-earned ten bucks on that.

  • I read that, too. I think I saw it on All Ears.

  • It was confirmed this morning that Genie+ will only allow access to Lightning Lane once per attraction, per ticket, per day.

    • I’m wondering where you saw this – I was looking all over the releases for WDW and newer info for Disneyland and it just says “one at a time” for the regular (not a la carte) Lightning Lane. It does say availability may be limited but nothing about a limit of once per day. That’s how it was with Max Pass – if it was available, you could get another FP time even if you’d already ridden something earlier that day.

• How does this work with Park Hopping? Would I need Genie+ at both the first park of the day and pay a second time for the next park that day?

  • You only pay once per day and can use Genie+ at any park that day (assuming you have a park hopper ticket or AP).

• I am confused about the 120 minutes. If I get a pass at 7 AM. Does that mean I can get another pass at 9 AM? Regardless of when I use that first pass? Which will be after 9 AM. So I can start the day at the parks with two passes.

  • The one you get at 7 am won’t be for 7 am (unless park is open then, which none of them are now). It might be for 9 am or even later. You can grab another one as soon as you use it or the beginning return time passes, whichever is sooner. If u get 9 am return time then u can get another at 9 am. If the next is for 9:30, u can get another at 9:30 and so on until return time is more than 2 hours in the future. At that point u wait 2 hours to get next, so if it’s 11 am & u get a 4 pm return time, u can grab another at 1 pm.

• Oh, Rikki. What a horrific mess.

  Besides the obvious money grab, we can forget planning a visit around the Genie+ picks. It’s a crap shoot every time you make a selection. Uh, let’s see, I wanna do Soarin’ first, lemme get up bleary-eyed at 7 to pick that *dice rolls* uh oh, my window is 3pm! Now I gotta wait 2 hours to try for something else – doesn’t seem to be an option to say no thanks to a window you don’t like and try another ride right away. Might as well go get in the standby lines until I roll the dice again.

  Looks like the Chapek era is a giant doodoo so far.

  • Not to mention rolling the dice and having to scrap a window because it conflicts with a nearly-impossible-to-get dining reservation.

  • Mike, there’s NO WAY you’ll have to commit to a ride before you know what your return window would be. If this works like Disneyland’s paxpass did (and there’s no reason to think it won’t), you’ll be able to scroll thru the list of LL attractions and see what each one’s current return window is. Then you can decide whether you want to grab a Soarin reservation for the afternoon, or just cut the Nemo line immediately.

    Expedition Everest as an individual upcharge? That’s a stretch. It’s a great ride, but one can use the single rider line for multiple rides per hour. I have to wonder what will replace it on the pay per ride list once it goes down early next year for refurbishment.

    I looking forward to TouringPlans’ head-to-head tests that I assume you will do later this month. (Would like to see them live on Twitch, too! I miss your live Twitch streams!)

• Question: Kids under 3 don’t have park tickets or reservations. Presumably they don’t need to pay for Genie+ either as long as their parents have a Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation?

  If so, could you use your group Lightning Lanes to give a 2-year-old a chance to ride something multiple times in a row without waiting? For our party of two parents with a 2-year-old, for example, I could take him on Tomorrowland Speedway with my Lightning Lane reservation, then my wife could go on and take him again right away? (And presumably you could keep doing this if you had more adults in the party)

  • Yes, Brian, you can totally do this. If you’re too young to need a park ticket, you can just tag along on the entitlements of the adults in your party. This works for meet & greets as well, once they return in their traditional form…

• so will the virtual queue for Remy’s adventure discontinue on 10/19? or are you competing with virtual queue AND the paid lightning lane allotment?

• “Reduce your wait in line” = “Push you toward purchasing Genie+“. $15 may not sound like a lot, but for my family that adds on $75 a day! That’s $300 for a day in each of the parks, plus $300 to $400 more for à la carte rides. Way to really emphasize how good a deal touringplans is Disney!
