Happy Birthday America!  Independence Week is here!

Earlier, I posted all about the special happenings at Walt Disney World for this year’s Fourth of July Celebration, including this week’s Limited Time Magic event, where guests will be able to celebrate not just on the Fourth of July, but all week, from July 1 – 7, over at the Magic Kingdom!

First off, there is a special pre-parade that will take place before the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade featuring Disney Characters, the Citizens of Main Street, and the Main Street Philharmonic.

Then, each night, prepare to be dazzled as the Magic Kingdom lights up with the patriotic fireworks show, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.”  The fireworks are scheduled to take place at 9 pm on July 3 and 4, and at 10 pm on July 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7.

Of course, with the celebration, you know that there has to be some special food offerings specifically for the occasion.  Treats inspired by the festivities include a red, white, and blue strawberry shortcake at Storybook Treats at the Magic Kingdom, featuring red strawberries, blue blueberries, and white shortcake; a Fourth of July Cupcake with apple pie filling, caramel buttercream icing, and apple crisp topping, which can be found at select Disney’s Hollywood Studios locations, such as ABC Commissary, Pizza Planet, Backlot Express, Studios Catering Co., Starring Rolls, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, and Fairfax Fare; and in Epcot, a  baked peach cobbler with vanilla whipped cream will be found at Garden Grill,  while a Baked Alaska mousse featuring raspberry, white chocolate, and blueberry mousse dipped in meringue can be found at Sunshine Seasons .

In addition, special holiday merchandise will be available, featuring red, white, and blue Mickey t-shirts, plush, pins, light up star necklaces, and patriotic Duffy costumes.

Get ready to celebrate the Red, White, and Blue in style at Walt Disney World!
