Dining Updates From Universal Orlando Resort

Two dining areas in CityWalk are currently being completely overhauled. The first is the Pastamore quick service location, which is located directly under Starbucks. While the table service side of Pastamore is unaffected by the construction, the quick service side is getting completely changed and is rumored to be converted over to a brick oven fired pizza station.

Meanwhile in the club section of CityWalk, the Latin Quarter has seen its last days and is in the process of being completely renovated into a brand new dining experience. This development is relatively surprising considering it wasn’t all that long ago that the Latin Quarter added the Churrascaria Brazilian Steakhouse on the second level of the restaurant. Rumors are that the Universal Orlando Resort will be putting a lot of effort in redesigning CityWalk in the upcoming years and in this seems to be the beginning of that reimagining.

Meal Deal changes at IOA and USF

We’re nearing the end of the busy summer season, and as the crowds start to thin the theme parks make slight adjustments. Universal has removed the two seasonal locations from its Meal Deal plan. Richter’s Burger Co. in Universal Studios Florida and the Captain America Diner in Islands of Adventure are no longer on the Meal Deal.  You can still visit the Meal Deal participants in USF at Mel’s Drive-in, Louie’s Italian Restaurant, and Monster’s Café while over in IOA the locations include The Burger Digs, Comic Strip Café, and Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous.

Changes in Springfield USA menus

The waterfront area of Springfield USA has been open for less than two weeks, but already we have seen changes in several of the dining locations. After the first day of operation, several of the tacos at the Bumblebee Man Taco Truck actually dropped $1 in price. You read that right. Dropped. Possibly a theme park first. The day after the price drop, a couple of the tacos went back up in price by $0.50.

Meanwhile over at the Duff Brewery, the price of Duff Beer on draught has gone up slightly, and the “Heat Lamp Dog” has been changed on the menu, now being called the “Sideshow Bob Foot Long.” The actual hot dog item remains the same, only the name has changed. The menu has also added the “Sideshow Bob 2 Foot Long,” which is just two separate hot dogs.  While Heat Lamp Dog is a hilarious satire on theme park food, the name change does involve the new walk around character Sideshow Bob and gives a more accurate description of the Nathan’s famous foot long hot dog you’ll actually be getting, but if you’re dead set on getting the Heat Lamp Dog, you can still head on over to Krusty Burger within Fast Food Blvd.
